Anderson Cooper was trying to cover the network's ass....he kept saying all the children they interviewed were done with parental approval...all that proves is there are a bunch of irresponsible idiot parents salivating over their 5 minutes of fame on national TV.

I caught a moment of O'Reilys show and he had an eight year old and her mom talking about the tragedy so it isn't just Anderson Cooper. It is absolutely nauseating to watch the media exploiting these kids just so they have something to fill a broadcast, parental consent or not it is just plain wrong.

I understand where you're coming from, Sal. I turned off the TV last night at about 1730 when the network began interviewing the children. That should never have been allowed.

After that, I went to bed way early at 1800 thinking about this, and it was the first thing I thought about when I woke up. I feel emotionally exhausted.

Sometimes all we can do is accept that we will never understand.

Well since The communist form of government required countless millions of dead shedding their blood I guess whatever we have is better... There is so much out of our control and I'm not sure the availability of mental health counseling would solve this. The true crazies would probably never seek it.

Still, we are all responsible for our own little circle and I can't help but feel that we all could do more by simply being aware of those who seem sad, alone or just don't conform to our own lifestyles.

A simple Hi and smile to the man on the street, the store clerk, the waitress can improve everyone's day, if only for the moment.

I'm sure we can all feel some shame for not always extending ourselves, just a little bit more.

Come on Dreams, you know good and well that he never said anything about beating a child. He said spank them and there is a huge difference between beating and spanking. All my kids were spanked growing up and they all turned out just fine. All are professionals and none have ever gone out and done it to anyone else. My kids now spank their kids. You may be a professional with children, but in case after case your logic would not hold water

I don't have a problem when they're real small w/ hitting their bottoms getting their attention but taking your kid and whacking them around-no. I don't care if you did it, your kids do it or anything like "they turned out just fine."Any kind of hitting is just wrong.It sends the wrong message and say this is how we solve problems. I never did it and my kids don't do it and they're great.

I have no problem with paddling little ones. As they get older it is not an effective method. With any child you have to first get their attention.

In your opinion it is wrong and you are certainly entitled to it, but in my opinion it has worked very well for me and my family. Having a kid take a time out does not show them any consequences whatsoever of their inappropriate actions.

Then they post a video interview of third-graders for all the details of what they saw and heard while the shootings were happening. Fox News has plastered the killer's face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer's identity? None that I've seen yet. Because they don't sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.

You can help by forgetting you ever read this man's name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem.

According to the BATF, two of five items are required to make any semi automatic rifle an assault rifle. Care to take a guess....even an uneducated guess will do.

Any firearm with a detachable magazine and at least two of certain other characteristics as an assault weapon.
