Nice dodge tho comrade.

I'm not dodging anything.  Your knock isn't against gay marriage specifically but is broadly against marriage tax policy in general.  Fair enough.  Make taxes for married people exactly the same as single people.  To my knowledge, no one here is disputing or even discussing that idea so you're basically talking to yourself here.

Also, I suspect our definition of "ladies" probably differ wildly. For example, in my version of the word, inanimate objects and hands do not count.

Boards, Pkr is a good looking guy that probably has all the real women he needs knocking on his door. Shame you never met him. Great guy.

Must look like a combination of Steve McQueen and Vlad.

When you're in the bottom 10th percentile of the looks category, almost every guy appears to be a "good looking guy".

Relative to the person with the lowest grade in the class, everyone is smart.

Hey bds,

Teo's right.  If you're gonna keep being this bastion of tolerance you want to be,  how is that in keeping with insulting other forum members for their looks.  Especially when you haven't even seen the person before.

And besides, we can't all have Brad Pitt's looks like I was fortunate to be born with. It's just the luck of the draw.

Lol... thanks Teo... but this is just their standard tactic when their arguments fall apart. Doesn't bother me at all.

It'd be fun to have a conversation eye to eye with them like you and I were able to have. They would use manners.

Lol... Bob was who brad pitts plastic surgeon used as a model. Bob is extremely sharp in person too. Good times.

PkrBum used to have his photo as his avatar and TEO has posted videos of him singing. I've seen them. PkrBum has a face made for radio and TEO has a face only a mother could love.

I don't think I've ever used my picture as my avatar... that's not my style.

Well then you had a picture of a random, goofy looking middle aged dude behind the wheel of a boat as your avatar for several months.

Because you're older & wiser now, maybe? There's a price to pay for that too, ya know.

Gotta go fishin' now .... ya'll have fun with this.

Boys, I wouldn't worry too much about looking like Brad Pitt or those other celebrities.
Without the makeup artists, they wouldn't win any beauty contests.

No.  I'm just someone fortunate enough to have grown up without being indoctrinated into a faith of hate and ignorance, as you clearly have.

So you're just filled with hate and ignorance by choice.

Got it!

Clerk has the law securely on her side...

The county clerk in Kentucky who cited “God’s authority” to defy a federal court order for her to violate her faith and issue “same-sex marriage” licenses has told the judge who issued the order that to follow his demands would be also to violate her constitutional due process rights as well as the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

The will argument I believe is what started the gay marriage going to supreme court. Even if you are married someone can come in and contest a will and hold it up for years.

As I said before the purpose of marrying for health benefits could come back to bite them in the ass (no pun intended). So let's say one is receiving an advanced premium tax credit on his/her individual policy as a single person, marriage will add the spouses income and the first person automatically gets screwed (no pun intended). Better yet, let's say the one spouse has group employer coverage and it's affordable for a single person but add a spouse and boom another screwing. Still can't get a subsidy.

Might benefit on life insurance so you can name anyone who has an insurable interest even if not married.

I really don't care whether gays get married but for some of the things I heard from them the reason's are just not justified and may get them in the end (again no pun intended).

Then again if they are marrying for the sole purpose of receiving the other's social security they may be in luck if they stay married for at least 10 year's. Yea, that's it.

Just for the sake of discussion, let's say she loses her legal battle.
So what would you want her to do then?

Obey the law of the country?
Or do God's work and continue to refuse to marry em?

And if your answer is the latter, where would you draw the line on the Bible taking precendence over man's law? Would ANY law which is not in harmony with the Bible be prohibited? Or just some laws?

Their reason has not changed for thousands of years. They want their behavior accepted as normal and moral.

For the man of faith Bob it's a no brainer. First supporting sin in any way is evil and standing against sin is good. Homosexuality is called sin in the Book. Now with a judge all you can lose is your temporal freedom or some mammon . With God you can lose your soul and spend eternity in darkness and suffering far from the face of your creator. Simple huh ? Should we seek to please God or man? Faithful unto death and I will give you a crown of righteousness.

Yeah, right. Displease god and you'll spend eternity in darkness and suffering .... but remember, god loves you! Yeah, sure he does ...

Then I'm screwed, teo, if that's what has to be. Because I've never been very good with having anyone or any thing be a dictator over me. And that goes double for whatever created me.
Not my cup of tea. I'm more of a golden rule type. Apparently whatever created me has no concept of that. Because I can almost guarantee you he would never stand for me being dictator over him. And if he won't do unto me what he would want done unto him, he, she or it can kiss my mortal ass.

I do understand Bob. Pride was the sin of Satan and perhaps most if not all our sin stems from that characteristic we all share as people. I always wondered why god wants us to be humble and meek. It's certainly not a natural trait for most of us. The Bible does say humble yourself before God and in due time he will exalt you...Other verses have people blaming God saying "why have you made me thus ?" You know, saying you made me this way god, so why are you angry with me ? Lots of questions beyond my pay grade.....

If Frank Luntz was doing his focus group meter on this, and the readers were the focus group, your graph has seen a spike up as they were reading that post.
Because most people who call themselves Christians would have read my blasphemy and let it ruffle their feathers. And would have lashed back at me like one of those low-energy candidate lashes back at Trump. lol
And the readers would not sympathize with that.
You instead won the readers over by not doing that.

So now I can't lash back for the same reason. I'm gonna have to take the John Kasich approach. But not being a professional politician, I don't know what that approach should be. lol

TEOTWAWKI

I advise some to read the book of Jonah. There's a gentle God in it trying to teach a hard hearted religious man to love those that were not like him. The sailors themselves tried to save Jonah, the hard hearted guy by throwing away their cargo and working hard to save the boat but were ultimately forced to toss Jonah into the sea. Also it's interesting God should show Jonah that a plant was more important to him than other people. There is room for mercy in most hearts but the paradigm must be established, that's the difficulty when hate is so much easier.

But I will correct this...

"I do understand Bob. Pride was the sin of Satan and perhaps most if not all our sin stems from that characteristic"

When someone stands up to a dictator, "pride" is not really the reason.

Because for me, the Golden Rule is not a request. It's a demand. And when a dictator does not do to me what he would want done to him, that's when the second part of my own personal two-part system of morality kicks in. That one is called "retribution". Better known as an eye for an eye.

And of course your response would be to tell me I can't fight my dictatorial creator because he can torture me for eternity.
Well I'm here right now to challenge my creator on that. If he's not a lousy repressed homosexual himself like some of those queer republican politicians, then I say he's not man enough (or rather god enough) to do anything about it. Come on tough guy dictator, give me your best shot.

TEOTWAWKI

You remind me of Nimrod. He was behind building the tower of Babel supposedly high enough so he, the mighty hunter, could shoot an arrow into the sky and kill god. We all know that ended badly with all the languages being confused and mankind forming many separate tribes. People I guess,  were pretty upset at everyone being drowned. Yup that pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.
