I signed it but as for this congress doing anything so reasonable I am not holding my breath. States and even cities are raising the minimum wage on their own, Seattle, Portland, etc. have already recognized that this is good policy.
Give America a Raise. Henry Ford was right about one thing. Pay your workers enough and they will buy the product you are making. Still true.

Even my Socialist/Communist good friend Wordsling knows it will do no good but put more people out of work and on the government dole. For which Wordslinger cheers!
Wordslinger even knows how FEW people it affects but so long as it hurts anyone, he is THRILLED!

How much is someone worth to an employer if they cannot spell, cannot do simple arithmetic, have not graduated from high school, have no work ethic and no skills?
Come on Progressives, show us all what you've got!
What is the typical income of a household where at least one worker is earning minimum wage?
Come on now, step up or people are going to know how uninformed you are!

Okay, we understand you hate immigrants. But your idea that most of the people receiving minimum wages are foreignors who don't speak English or have any job skills is as absurd as your advocating that big American companies should keep their profits over seas instead of paying taxes that would cut the deficit. Again, I hate Amerika Inc. and you hate american workers. Reality!!!

This is such a nutty poster for several reasons. First it implies or overlooks the fact that high income earners (no doubt about it) vote for their own best interests. They spend their money supporting candidates who will pass laws that benefit their business and financial interests and they have their own personal resources with which to support their candidates.
The working poor only have their votes. They have no money to give to campaigns. It is my experience that in the past (before the government was basically taken over by corporate interests) the government and laws were the only things standing between regular people and a life of serfdom which is the end result of unfettered capitalism.
Still, even in its current mainly corporate dominated form, actions from governments on every level, not just the federal level, are the last best hope for those of us who lack large sums of money to donate to campaigns for people who will stick up for our interests.
I think this is a sickening poster. Actually the icon of the person sitting on his front stoop is probably a bad image in that he is probably an ex-con who has no voting rights in many states so he can't vote anyway!

Awww...come on Wordslinger, show off for your comrades here. You know these simple questions you've known for decades.
Where did I mention immigrants? Never. Guess that's your own prejudice.

Take note that after I slammed him for his bigoted statement, he modified it here. "What does someone who cannot speak proper English, even as their first language, cannot do simple arithmetic, have NO skills, no work ethic and has never had a job worth to an employer? What he said originally was:
The original version targets illegal immigrants, whom Herr Markle knows represents but a small portion of Americans who work for a minimum wage.
Herr Markle modified the statement here hoping his reputation for bigotry would "Just go away".

Productivity has increased due to far, far more work being done by "robots" and other mechanical production. Even you know that is true. In addition, as you know, much of the construction and assembly is being done in other countries.
If a worker is doing exactly the same thing they were 30 years ago, why should the worker earn more, relatively, than they do today? Doesn't it PROVE that increasing the minimum wage has done nothing?

I have seen quite a few real estate professionals which fit that criteria.....and they seem to make a living.

Try telling that to the CEO's! You think they want to earn what the job paid 30 years ago, really?

About 10% of real estate professionals are intelligent, and when one talks about changing the laws to allow house showing by minimal wage folks, open houses, the squeal from the monopoly is too funny. Give me a minimum wage house sitter, and a good real estate attorney, and eliminate the billions wasted on folks who barely can write a sentence, and maybe we can quit this illusion that for those billions there is any service connected to the same. Now Mr. Markle is obviously part of the 10%, but he has admitted teaching these minimum wage qualified folks so he must know what I am talking about.....dumbest profession next to barbers and hairdressers who at least are good with rumors.
