Palosie is a bridge too far, methinks.

If Joe-the-plumber can be persuaded to run as a democrat, he's got my vote!

I'd forgotten about Joe the Plumber.  Boy was that peculiar.  A voice-of-the-people plumber who didn't even have a plumber's license (aka just more "reality tv")  lol

That remembrance is making me even more cynical.  lol

Nancy's not the Speaker, numbskull.

Boehner is.

See that just proves my theory. The politicians just reflect how stupid the people are. lol

Regardless of Seaoat's POV, Christy's toast. It's no longer a question of him losing his shot at the presidency ... the question now is how long he'll be in prison!

Apparently, some four to six people involved in the GW bridge traffic tie-up have been subpoenaed. One (Wildstein?) has already indicated he'll talk if offered immunity. The others have yet to be investigated. You can bet that several of them will talk if they get immunity. They've all been thrown under the bus by their boss, and their own careers and reputations despoiled. Even Tony Soprano would be sweating.

If one of them indicates Christy knew what was going on, Christy will be indited, charged with various felonies, tried and punished if found guilty.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall ....

Christy is not sweating. He is clever. He said get them in a generic sense at a meeting, and he has absolute plausible denial......he would never get specific, and like the bombs blowing up in Syria which you predicted, I do not see any bombs in Christy's future.

After seeing this little micro-issue, I now have no doubt that Christy has presidential plans. If he didn't he wouldn't have trotted himself out for two hours of a press beating. I think he handled perfectly well. He stayed there as long as the press wanted to continue asking questions. He put it all out there. I may not agree with this guy on policy, but there is something to be said about that.

If he's telling the truth that he had "no knowledge of it's planning or it's execution" then wordslinger and sal won't get their wish to see him behind bars.
But if he's lying I think there's a good chance that will be found out and when that happens not only can he kiss the White House goodbye but probably his governor's job as well. And maybe even his freedom.

He will not have his governor's job impacted in any way, and the piling on shows how absolutely dangerous he is to the special interests who run DC. I have watched this tempest in a teapot be manipulated literally a year and a half before the primaries begin to roll out and fully understanding that he most certainly wanted his staff to GET some Democrats, but the man will never be proven to give specifics, yet the fury of the media attack proves how dangerous his candidacy is. This is exactly what happened to Newt when he took the lead. Sorry, but they are dealing with Teflon Christy........the guy is not going down easy. He will be attacked next as a phoney conservative, yet his record speaks for itself, and one of my golf buddies informed me that he is a liberal, so the manipulators have already created the illusion that working to protect his citizens in Sandy somehow changed his clear political record.....it did not.

Then every governor who uses federal highway funds to put welcome to the state of whatever and puts their name on the sign will need to go to jail......sorry Mr. C and that ad probably was the better campaign. The discretion on funds use needs to be qualified by the feds......bootstrapping this to criminality is laughable.

Are you saying that if there is testimony or documentation which comes forward which shows that he's lying and he did have knowledge of the bridge lane closures, that it will still be no big deal and won't hurt his political career?

I don't think Christie will be impeached or anything over this but he certainly won't be President or even get the nomination. The ultra conservatives do not like him.I do think he knew about it though and his aides will start talking if prosecutions come out of it.

Sorry, Seaoat. You're as wrong about Christie as you were about the Newt.

Maybe, but I do not think so......I like them both. I think intelligence in politics is a virtue.

Newt is not all that smart, he's just accomplished at pretending to be intelligent through condescension.

Crisco is just a blowhard.

I can see where you'd admire them both.

I would be proud in any such comparison.

You've got to be joking. Brain power by itself is useless...often destructive. I don't see either of your heroes having an excess of moral responsibility. Christie is a bully. Neither he nor Newt belong in public office.

What we need is somebody who doesn't have any brain power like George Bush.

Biden is closer.

This discussion is most probably moot because it is highly unlikely the wise guy from Jersey will survive the GOP primaries . . . he made the ultimate faux paux by embracing the President of the United States after Sandy devastated the East coast. Ask Charlie the penalty for the same . . .

In the last two days I was told both by my cousin (on the phone) and Rush Limbaugh (on the radio) that they would never ever vote for Chris Christie because he was nice to Obama.
