Veterans are given thorough medical exams prior to be being admitted into the various services.
If the member, and their immediate family, do not have a history of the developing medical condition that the service member is experiencing then it's hard to prove that it isn't a service related condition.
Not saying that there aren't fraudulent claims.
I'm saying that it's hard to prove that it isn't a service related condition.

DE I spent 26 years in the Army and the thorough medical exam I got only consisted of height, weight, a few shots and a rectal exam as we formed a single line in dressed only our boxers waiting our turn. No blood was drawn and never saw a doctor, all the examining was done by corpsmen or medics. That was my thorough entrance medical exam and the exit medical was even less.
