However Bob..... If you're saying everyone should be FORCED by the government to purchase from a private company just because they happen to be breathing then they should all be required to purchase $10 a month from my private company also... I could use the extra $3 billion income every month...

Coyote

problem

The
Sierra Club and the U. S. Forest Service were presenting an alternative to the
Wyoming ranchers for controlling the coyote population.
It
seems that after years of the ranchers using the tried and true method of
shooting or trapping the predators, the Sierra Club had a "more humane" solution
to this issue.
What
they were proposing was for the animals to be captured alive The males would
then be castrated and let loose again.

This
was ACTUALLY proposed by the Sierra Club and by the U. S. Forest
Service.
All
of the ranchers thought about this amazing idea for a couple of
minutes.
Finally
an old fellow wearing a big cowboy hat in the back of the conference room stood
up, tipped his hat back and said,

"Son, I
don't think you understand our problem here. These coyotes ain't screwing our
sheep; they're eatin' 'em!"

The
meeting never really got back to order...

SORRY BUT THIS A GREAT PLACE TO DUMP E-MAILS FROM MY BUDDIES....

Cash for Clunkers

The person who calculated
this bit of information is now, and has been a professor at the
University of West Virginia in Morgantown for the last forty some years. He
says that:
A clunker that travels 12,000 miles a year at 15 mpg uses 800 gallons
of gas a year. A new vehicle that travels 12,000 miles a year at 25 mpg uses 480 gallons
of gas a year. So, the average Cash for Clunkers transaction reduced gasoline consumption
by 320 gallons per year. The government claims 700,000
clunkers have been replaced so that is 224 million
gallons saved per year. That equates to a bit over 5 million
barrels of oil. 5 million barrels is about 5 hours worth of
US consumption. More importantly, 5 million barrels of oil at $100 per barrel costs
about $500 million dollars. So, the government paid $3 billion of our tax
dollars to save $500 million. They spent $6.00 for every
$1.00 they saved. I'm pretty sure they will do a much better
job with our health care
though.

Malia
on break in Mexico

My
Mother used to tell me "Money does not grow on trees"
something

Obama's
mother never told him.

After driving the U.S. more deeply
into debt than any other President,

this
should make you shake your head. If George Bush's daughters
or
Bill Clinton's daughter had done this, it would have been all
over the

news
and the voter's would have been calling for heads to roll 24/7.

But with the chosen one, you hear nothing on the major
media.

Want to know where Obama's 13 year-old daughter went
with 12 friends?

On "spring break" in Oaxaca Mexico , on your
dime.

She
took two jets, 12 friends and 25 secret service men.

A
thirteen year-old? What theā€¦?

Why haven't you heard about
it?

The Obama Administration has had the Secret Service
scouring the web

ordering
that any website mentioning this be taken down because
letting
the travel plans out could have endangered the
president's daughter's

security.

Nonsense,
the "royal couple" just want to hide the way they are
ripping

off
the U.S. taxpayer. Only a few Canadian Web-sites still have it
up.
(both below)

The Obama's are laughing at the "suckers"
who are funding their Imperial Lifestyle.

This trip cost more
than most Americans make in their entire lifetimes

We get that, dirt-dobber. Your stance which you keep stancing like a broken record is that "it's not in the constitution" and "either you nationalize the whole health care system or you let people die in the emergency room parking lot because there can be nothing in between".

No. That's why there's charities provided by various organizations and individuals that take up the slack when things fall through the cracks of government...

...You are free to donate, all your wealth if you so desire, to these various organizations just like many of the saints over the ages have done if that eases your conscious...

No, sonny, I'm not going to donate all my wealth to anything. And no regardless of charity, there are still people going to fall through the cracks if there is no mandated ER treatment (which was the only point I made to begin with). And no none of that necessitates that I advocate turning all health care over to the government.

Oh no you're not getting out of this. Things are still going to fall through the cracks even with a government mandate for health care. You know this as well as I do. Shall we call it Beaurocracy At It's Finest?

You've turned this issue into a moral imperative to ease your conscious and you are now obligated to show your conviction to helping others. This demands that you become a saint and present all your wealth to the cause of helping others. So I now wait for Saint Bob to follow through with his moral convictions and the upcoming miracle of Saint Bob being taken bodily into heaven upon his demise because...

Hardly any compared to the big frarmers that the federal government hands the money out to... Just like the money it's now handing to the health care industry that you're working for since you can't get it honestly sonny. It always helps when big brother forces others to give you money doesn't it sonny?

EMTALA was passed in 1986.

Has it kept patients from dying in hospital ER parking lots?

Now you're saying that this new OBAMACARE will stop this?

You are funny...

How much legislation and beaurocracy do you need to prove to you that government solutions don't always work?

As I stated earlier... You can always donate all your wealth to charity to ease your conscious...

Yes, EMTALA was enacted in 86.

Yes, it has kept patients from dying since they no longer can be refused ER treatment which was happening before EMTALA.

"Now you're saying that this new OBAMACARE will stop this."

Sonny, at no time have I said that. Go back to the 2nd post in this thread and read it.

Teo's right... The only thing the federal government is authorized to do is ensure the national defense.

I don't listen to Hannity obviously you do which is why you should clean the cow patties out of your ears. However I doubt the Hannity translator would come out translated as you depict it.

I'm not surprised that your a supposedly enlightened progressive liberal and think that Obama's crap don't stink...

I don't think you and teo are on the same page. Teo believes that military you talk about is controlled by the Illuminatti and is not ensuring anything except making you it's slave.

But now I see where you're coming from. You would eliminate all federal government except for the military. That's quite an extreme position.

You never answered me about the federal farm subsidies. Are anyone you've ever worked with, your family, your friends or yourself getting those?

Of course you're not surprised. Just like markle and sean hannity and rush limbaugh, you believe that when anyone does not share all your ideas, that automatically makes him an obama worshipping/democrat worshipping liberal.
For you there can be nothing in between.

I and my son-in-law is more than willing to give up all our farm subsidies as long as all farm subsidies and other government handouts to farms are eliminated.

Let's say you lose all your crop because of a drought (which some farmers are facing now) and you can no longer pay your overhead or make a living. And then you lose your farm. So you're telling me you would not want a federal subsidy to help keep you in business and you would prefer to lose your farm instead?

By the way... Several years ago I was on the DMR Des Moines Register discussing subsidies with some farmers. The large farmers are all for those subsidies and their reason for keeping them was that they could do things more efficiently. My response to them was that if they could do it more efficiently then they shouldn't need any subsidies at all (especially since they recieve the lions share of those subsidies). All the small farmers in the discussion agreed with me and stated that they were more than willing to give up all government subsidies and handouts if it would put them back on a level playing field with the big guys.

That's why you pay for crop and lifestock insurance and don't rely on a government subsidy.

Why don't you call subsidies exactly what they are? Bailouts! The government has been doing it for big businesses for years now with airlines, trains, farms, the car industry and more recently with the banks.

My farm is paid for with labor since I was a young un' and so is my son-in-laws. That's the life of small family farmers. Conservative farmers don't fail. They find jobs off the farm to make up the difference if need be.
