WTM, I have nothing to say to you in private that I won't say right here:

If you send me any more pms, I will post them right on this forum. You cannot control me with your sad, pathetic threats.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Your passive aggressive BS has zero boundaries. You're not gonna PM me and you want everyone to know it, bless your tiny little black heart. So all you did was create even more dissent hoping the forum folk will hang on every word...."I wonder what he said to her...?"

You sure can spin everything like a top on steroids.

Do you want ME to post what I sent you in a PM right here on the open forums...?

That's a rhetorical question, so don't bother responding. And don't EVER refer to me as "the stalker" again.

I see the PM, like most things, plumb evaded you. Trust me, there will never be another PM from me....there's no reason, and you responded exactly like I expected by attacking me, again.

You are dead freaking deadski to me, and you had best make it reciprocal.

Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

I see that you want to continue with your childish taunts.

So be it.

Nekochan wrote:But to read the story and say that Romney is a liar for what he said is a very far stretch.

Good god how many times must this be explained to you?

1: Bloomberg publishes story about Jeep expanding to China. Not a story about moving production from the US to China, but a story about Jeep expanding to China.

2: This gets twisted to mean "Jeep is moving its US production to China"

3: Romney begins selling this idea repeatedly.

4: Jeep clarifies itself further and states that they are not moving any US production to China.

5: Romney doubles down on the idea that Jeep is moving US production to China.

One more time for Nekochan. Jeep clarified itself and said that the claim is bogus. Later, at a point in time after Jeep clarified the fact that the story is bogus, Romney still chose to sell the bogus story.

If Romney wasn't lying when he continued to say that Jeep was moving its US production to China after the rest of the world - save the reading comprehension challenged - had already reached consensus on the alternative view....what on earth do you call that? What do you call the act of telling someone that reality is "A" when it has been confirmed to be "C"?

Because Politifact is a heavily read fact checking organization and each year their Lie of the Year is a somewhat big deal in the world of politics. Being this a sub-forum specifically devoted to the discussion of politics and being the announcement of Politifact's Lie of the Year being fairly recent...well, I'm sure you can connect the rest of the dots.

Because, like, nothing matters after the first two sentences! Like, the bible says...

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

Like, they should have just, like, put "THE END" right there. The bible says nothing about gay marriage or sin or jesus or anything of the sort. You don't agree? Well, like, I suggest you read the first two sentences!!!11111

No, like, I totally agree. Jeep is moving its US production to China. Anyone who disagrees is some sort of loony person who, like, does stupid stuff like read beyond the second sentence of stories, and like, doesn't understand what it means, when like, the CEO of a company says stuff like, “I feel obliged to unambiguously restate our position: Jeep production will not be moved from the United States to China,” Marchionne wrote. “Jeep assembly lines will remain in operation in the United States and will constitute the backbone of the brand. … It is inaccurate to suggest anything different.”

Like, its soo sad that these dumb people are clueless and don't know that Jeep is moving its US production to China. Right? Like, Right?

Can you answer the question? What is the ad lying about when it says that Jeep will make Jeeps in China? The ad says nothing about Jeep moving all production to China.

I actually didn't watch the ad. So are you now shifting away from what Romney said and are now instead defending a specific ad? If you are, I'm guessing this is your way of conceding that Romney did in fact lie when he said that Jeep was shifting US production to China?

Does it actually matter? You started a thread about something you haven't even watched? Well, good for you! What thread will you start next that you know nothing about? LOL!

The whole Politifact point is that Romney told a lie (but when you read the original Bloomberg artitle, it wasn't even a lie) and then that he made a campaign ad out of the lie. That's the whole point! That Romney lied and then that he continued to lie with the TV ad. You've been yapping all afternoon about he kept telling the lie. Well, where did he keep telling this lie? Do you even know? Or do you just believe what Politifact throws out there?

Sure this is the political section of a forum but I doubt Politifact lie of the year is even a blip on the political landscape. So yeah there are a couple of dots to connect but why bother? Romeny is irrelevant and anything about Romney is irrelevant at this point. Obama won, Obama owns all the problems now and I for one would like to see some damn results. Just curious, is this going to become the latest trend, since the blame bush no longer holds water are we going to blame presidential running mates for Obamas failures? Are we going to keep discussing the has beens to keep the focus diverted from Obama? If so what's Sarah Palin up to these days?

The first two lines of Politifact:

It was a lie told in the critical state of Ohio in the final days of a close campaign -- that Jeep was moving its U.S. production to China. It originated with a conservative blogger, who twisted an accurate news story into a falsehood.

The first two lines of the Bloomberg report:

Fiat SpA (F), majority owner of Chrysler Group LLC, plans to return Jeep output to China and may eventually make all of its models in that country, according to the head of both automakers’ operations in the region.
Fiat is in “very detailed conversations” with its Chinese partner, Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. (2238), about making Jeeps in the world’s largest auto market, said Mike Manley, chief operating officer of Fiat and Chrysler in Asia.

.......................

Politifact was blatantly wrong in their first two lines, claiming that a true story was twisted. Yet, we're supposed to believe everything else in this "factcheck" that they claim? What is that called?
Do you turn to Fox News when you want accurate and fair reporting? If not, then why?

Who has a bigger reading comprehension problem, you or Romney?

From the Bloomberg article:

"Manley referred to adding Jeep production sites rather than shifting output from North America to China."

Did you read the first two sentences? Who has a comprehension problem?
plans to return Jeep output to China and may eventually make all of its models in that country

The article was very clear about expanding production for cars sold in China. I encourage you to read the entire article.

I did read the entire article. Did you read the first two lines? I encourage you to do so. In journalism, the main facts are supposed to be put in the first couple of lines. Maybe Bloomberg got it wrong, maybe the Head of Jeep got it wrong. But there is a problem with communications from and about Jeep.

So, your logic is that the sentence "Manley referred to adding Jeep production sites rather than shifting output from North America to China." is completely irrelevant to the story? That is your contention, right? Any clarifications beyond the first two lines have no meaning to the message being communicated, right?

Sorry my response was more than two lines long....probably a waste since you stopped reading a few lines back.

LOL, you're funny. I didn't say that anything in the story is irrelevant. I said that the main point in a news story is written in the first couple of lines.

I think the Bloomberg piece was poorly written. The first two lines made it appear as though Jeep might move all of its Jeep production to China. It could very easily be interpreted that way. BUT I don't think that's what Jeep meant to be reported and I really don't think that is or was Jeep's intent. But to read the story and say that Romney is a liar for what he said is a very far stretch. Politifact is simply biased. Liberals rant all the time about Fox News and other news organizations being biased, but then they believe everything a group like Politifact says. There were many exaggerations on BOTH sides and maybe some outright lies. But this story, based on what Bloomberg actually reported, I do not believe was the biggest lie of the campaign.

So, you can acknowledge that it wasn't Jeep's intention to shutter plants in the US, but Politifact is still biased and Romney didn't lie? That's pretty fucked up logic.

You can call it whatever you want to. Facts are misreported all the time --sometimes intentionally and sometimes not--and communications get crossed. I cannot speak for what Romney knew to be true or false. I can only look at what the Bloomberg story said, what Romney said and then at what his TV ad said. And based on those, it is my belief that Politifact wouldn't put this out there as being the biggest lie if they weren't biased. So what happened with this? Well, Bloomberg put out a poorly written story which very well could have been interpreted to mean that Jeep was going to move Jeep production to China. Then Romney repeated what was in the Bloomberg story or at least what was easliy interpreted to be in the story. And then Romney put out a TV ad saying that Jeep was going to make Jeeps in China. And this is the biggest lie of the year? I mean--do you really believe that this is the biggest lie of the year? Of course, there is bias involved!
