I love it that this thread has devolved into members of the most entitled, selfish, narcissistic, and unpatriotic generation in American history whining about having to pay a slightly higher tax rate.

So, so typical and predictable.

Only during Obama warfare has this become an issue.

We actually used to be considered as "one".

The division was once, perhaps, by skin color............NOW????

It's by FREAKING income...........how much we have "progressed"?????????????

I despise how this "President" has set us back.

Yeah, he's trying to "set us back" almost to Clinton era tax rates.

Almost.

Not quite.

bob, im not sure if anyone picked up on this. Your saying you receive about $10,000 a year through anuities. This leads me to know your investment is much much higher. Your a rich man bob.
What I consider "rich" is someone who can live off his nest egg for the rest of his retirement and doesn't have to put his assets at risk to get investment income. And that surely isn't me. If I did that I'd spend it down long before my expected lifespan.

Bob, im sorry my sarcastic sarcasism reply wasnt caught.

I dont think you are a rich man. I think you are like so many retired people in the country who are going to suffer if this happens.

People like seaoat have so much that they dont care if a little goes away. Just like warren buffet, what s afew million to him Neutral

I dont think anyone knows what is going to happen, but something is going to happen and the guess out there is that no one is going to escape the equalization of the classes war fare.

For those who think they are going to escape it, they are in denial.

I however did mean what I said about knowing about it after its passed, just like we all found out about the reductions in my profession after it was passed.

My best regards goes out to you in hopes it wont be as bad as what my profession got from obamacare.

God bless us all and Merry Christmas.

I now understand it all pretty well. It's The Rise and Fall of The Baby Boomers.
We baby boomers were the most priveleged generation in American history.
And that includes what came before us and what's coming after us.
And for the last couple of decades we've been THE political powerhouse mainly because of one, our sheer numbers, and two, that era was our prime age where we got put in the positions of power and influence.
But that chapter of history is now moving towards a close.
As I said in another thread, what we are now is exemplified by the Romneys and the Trumps. Both overestimated today's popularity (speaking of the populace as a whole) of old white wealthy baby boomers. Old wealthy boomers are not Da Man anymore in the minds of so many.

So yes, all those other americans who are not old white baby boomers are not going to be supportive of whatever we want from the government. They don't care about baby boomer priveleges. And that will be reflected in the "entitlements" elderly receive (i.e. Medicare) and it will also be reflected in the taxes we're expected to pay. And every other thing which involves public policy.
It's a new day for us now. And it probably aint gonna be to our liking.

We were never considered as one so you can stop the illusions.Unless you are in the 1% of the country's wealth, Obama's policies are not going to touch you at all, so why are you whining?

Because we're goobers who are just not smart enough to appreciate how brilliant barrack obama and nancy reid and henry palosi are. They are to politics what justin beiber is to music.

I know you are. You were whining about paying capital gains taxes when all you paid was about 8-9% in taxes total. No SS,payroll or medicare taxes. others pay.

I'm from the hippie generation. Why would I shout about dirty hippies.
Why would I wear a colonial hat in 2012?
And I had to google it to even know what a "gadsden" flag is.

But I do have one of these hats.

Why would I still be paying social security taxes when I'm now a recipient?
Why would I be paying Medicare taxes when I'm not Medicare age yet?
Why would I pay a payroll tax when I'm retired.

If Obama and henry paloosi and nancy reid want me to be paying all that then how bout they take a pay cut to balance it out?
