I do not know a farmer with over a 100 acres who is not a millionaire. The military and the teat sucking syndrome throws another 65 billion into the hog trough.....now they are going to give more welfare to corporate and wealthy farmers......

How about this unique idea.....cut military personnel by 25% and let kids work in the private sector where there is a labor shortage, and how about letting the American farmer compete in the world market without a dumbell tied to their ankles. The farm subsidy has caused all kinds of problems in families as the subsidy of every farm in your county is now online. In the midwest farming country people do not like welfare, so when you find out a millionaire who is at the thanksgiving table got a 40k dollar check from the government teat.....feuds begin. We know one family who refuse to go over to their sister's house because her husband made a big deal about farm welfare. This went on for about five years and finally the family reconciled with the proviso that the subject would no longer be discussed at gatherings. If we would only tell the truth about the military welfare system, there would be many a disagreement, but the truth remains.....these young kids should be working in the private sector making real contributions to our GDP rather than sucking it dry with rabbit hole spending.

My Trumpkin buddy with a printing, signs, stamps, seals, graphic arts, etc business told me today he received several notifications from suppliers in the past week of increases in various of his raw materials costs citing the tariffs as a reason.   (He thinks it's just an "excuse" and they are "price gouging.")

So, I asked him when he's going to get his "tariff subsidy" like Trump is giving to BigAg.  Said he didn't expect one, then changed the subject to illegal aliens.

This trade thing is just a little hiccup we have to go through to bring these other countries to the negotiating table and make them deal honestly with us. It will be over soon enough and things will be better than they were before.

The average acre of farm land in the midwest is about 11k an acre. Most of the land by me with grade A soils are selling for 14k and acre. Just on value, the 100 acres is over a million. Most farmers can get 300 an acre net farm rent, and smaller farms rent their land with the tenant farmer fertilizing and paying the taxes. So just doing nothing they make $30,000 from rents, and probably get their welfare check from the government of around 5-10 thousand. Now if the farmer decides to farm it himself and corn is at six bucks and the farm is getting 200 bushel of corn, they could double the income from farm rent, so now we are talking about 60k a year for a hobby farm.

Now in regard to your macdonalds example. How about this unique idea which myself and most of my friends followed: work and go to school, and do not look for a handout at the government teat. All my friends who I play poker with where about 6 of us still get together all worked in high school and paid for their college and have had amazing careers contributing to the growth of the private sector, apply economic multipliers, innovation, and employment for others. Every government employee in the Macro sense depresses GDP. That is pure economic science. Sure you can point to the local military bases and say they help the GDP, and that is simply a parochial lets get ours versus the overall impact on the American economy. Do you think the Japanese and German economic miracles happened because they were spending 4% of their GDP on a rabbit hole. This idea that business cannot train employees in technical areas and only the military can do the same is a 700 billion anchor on our economy which is simply false.

Demilitarization is when the teat suckers decrease in number, but when your country has been in perpetual war for twenty years the teat suckers are everywhere with politicians who just like this obscene farm subsidy have all their marbles in projecting they are pro war and military, and rush to throw more money......65 billion more just this year, and all the while we think that subsidy to the military and agriculture is good for this country.....it is not.

Trump said a long time ago regarding tariffs that he would protect our farmers in a trade war. And that's exactly what he's doing right now.

But know this. It won't last long. And the boon that will come to our economy will more than pay for the paltry twelve billion he's putting up right now to protect our farmers from China's threats.

China will be coming to the table soon enough. Hat-in-hand. Count on it.
