Tell me one person in the whole goddamn Tampa Bay area (with ten times the population we have) who has ever been able to make a paper model and take a picture of it and convince the whole fucking world it was a flying saucer.

The white paper model found in Ed Walters' attic did not look at all like the object in his mains photos.  In fact,  as I'm aware he never produced a photo of that object.
And he kept to his story even after they ran him out of town.  Still does to this day.

His ex wife is a friend of ours . . . this subject is taboo but I think she still receives some royalties from a book about what else . . . . UFO(ology)!!!

It was the kid Tommy Smith that clinched it. There was no way that kid was making that up.

And just think,  the local medical examiner who had a white collar job at Chemstrand (Monsanto) still swears that he and his wife saw the UFO close in to them while driving down Scenic Highway.
Apparently all because Ed Walters' gave fake photos to the newspaper.
That is a lesson in "the power of suggestion".

But if it was all fake, maybe somebody can help me understand what it was I saw.
In the middle of the whole thing, it got around that people were gathering at the south end of the Bay Bridge every evening at about dusk.
I kept seeing mention of this on Channel 3 News and then one night they took the cameras down there. Sure enough, after a while somebody yelled "look up" and they all did and there was this bright green light moving around in the sky at about 12 clock high.
So by that time I couldn't stand it so I had to go see it for myself. I went down the next night. About a hundred people milling around. Lewis Bear was there. And so was Buddy Pollock. And mayor Ed Gray (lol).
After about an hour, somebody again said "look up" and there it was. A bright green light moving about in the sky straight above us.
The light was visible for about ten minutes and then it blinked out.
If it was a flare that meant somebody had done this every night for two or three weeks running and nobody ever saw the flair until it was directly overhead.
Not very plausible.
And the local military swore they had nothing to do with it and no knowledge of what it was (and said it in a believable way).
So who knows what it was. I don't.

I know, it probably wasn't even fair to ask it but it's just that I've been so obsessed with the whole thing for 27 years. I got totally wrapped up in it at the time and never quit the addiction. lol
