I think this was one of the prettiest and most complex boats we ever built. My Favorite. A 10,00 hp Tug. The Harvey War Horse.

That boat was built in 2005 and sometimes they all run together.

LOL... funny, I sure thought that was a tug! Nice shot of the longliner. Man, talk about a dangerous job. Those guys have to be half-crazy at a minimum to be longline fishermen in the Bering Sea, well, anywhere for that matter!

Biggest boat was the Casino Queen. 440 ft or so. Took almost 2 years to build. It is really 2 boats, A tug and a barge. They join together at the paddle wheels. For a while it was the biggest Gaming boat on the river.

They were holding a rig in the loop currents a few years ago, we came out to start picking up the anchors to move the rig. We brought them the grocery box that they are unloading. After we recovered the eight anchors the tug along with the anchor boat that I was on and another anchor boat towed the rig out of the loop currents and to their next location.

I love those boats too. Im fascinated with boats

my daddy used to run a tug boat for parkhill goodlow, thats why I grew up in naples fl. He broke his neck and we moved to jax fl for his care when I was 7.

I remember he used to take me out there sometimes when he would go check on it. I would always ride in the back windshield and stare at the stars and moon. He would stop and get me an apple beer and a beef pocket. That was a big treat.

I've been on rig moves with the Warhorse a few times..
I was in one hell of a storm towing a rig and Johndough was on the big boat just watchin us bounce around.. We were only 149'..w/2 16 645 EMD's..

I know the Boat well.. I've sailed as Chief engineer for a long time..
I was always impressed with the Warhorse..
They had hell docking it tho.. it would jump just puttin it into clutch..

Yep, that was him. Strong as an ox and a hell of a cook. I used to drop him off down there when we would finish a shift. Buster never got his drivers license so one of us would have to drive him everywhere. I miss that guy.

Since we're on the subject of ships... I've spent my whole career tracking ships and dealing w/steamship lines. I've many wild stories about some of my vessels and shipments... Here are the top three: When my factories were almost out of gearboxes and I had 72 coming into the Port of Charleston on one vessel in heavy seas (there was some big storm, I now forget which). I suddenly lost all comms and when I dug-in I was notified that there was a ROCKET that had fallen off its.... cribbing, for lack of more accurate terminology, while the vessel was waiting to berth. Of course I didn't see those gearboxes for a couple of weeks, as that vessel was kept out at sea until any threat of danger was over, but I spent a crapload of money transferring freight across the country to keep my factories running. Another story of note is that my bedplates were on the Maersk Alabama when it was hijacked by the Somali pirates in 2009. I was so relieved when Capt. Phillips and crew were all safe, while the bigwheels were mostly happy our freight was gong to make it home. No The only one I have an interesting picture of is the Cosco Busan, which you may recall hit the SF Bay Bridge in fog. It was fully loaded with bedplates as well, which my factories were in desperate need of. The upside of that incident is that I'd long argued to not use that port, as it was a cross-country over-dimensional haul for three of four of my factories, and I finally got my way. Wink

That was the first on they built for Harvey Gulf..
I got a nice raise when it came out.. Capt. Don tried to recruit me and my office matched their offer.. Very Happy
