Another example of a transparent administration

"The Associated Press said Wednesday it has sued the State Department to force the release of government documents and e-mails from Hillary Rodham Clinton's tenure as secretary of State, an action taken a day after she defended her use of a private e-mail account to conduct business and after six formal attempts by the news agency to obtain records.

"After careful deliberation and exhausting our other options, The Associated Press is taking the necessary legal steps to gain access to these important documents, which will shed light on actions by the State Department and former Secretary Clinton, a presumptive 2016 presidential candidate, during some of the most significant issues of our time," AP General Counsel Karen Kaiser said in a statement.

"The press is a proxy for the people, and AP will continue its pursuit of vital information that's in the public interest through this action and future open records requests," Kaiser said."

She's already said she would release the emails. Why in the world would AP sue?

They're not hers to release at this point.

They're in the State Department's archives, HRC has called for their release, and the Department has agreed to do so after going through and redacting sensitive info.

So, yeah ...

... non-story.

The AP is suing the State Dept. not HRC since they are well familiar with this administrations policy of stonewalling the press. And anyone else who is trying to find out what they are up to.

So it is a story.

It is a story. I agree. However, anybody with a fifth grade education understands that in those state department official emails are important policy positions and security issues. The state department will need time to redact security issues from the emails. A judge will do an in camera examination of those items redacted, and will rule on their legitimacy.

So yea, it is a story, but the story ends exactly the same way with or without the suit, except there will be an umpire to review the security issues. If it was that simple, our enemies could simply sue for release of emails from a security agency.....but then again that would require a fifth grade education to think the lawsuit changes a thing.....but it is news.

Maybe. I thought you had security clearance. Are you telling me you think having time to redact and review security issues is not part of the time it takes to release emails?

If she was stupid enough to move classified to an unclassified network she's in deep shit. There should be nothing to vet.

There's no excuse for anything but FOUO emails on her private server and even that has sensitive PII.

This is sooooooooo obviously a deflection from the imbecilic actions of the 47 right-wing nutjobs who signed the letter to Iran.

The only things imbecilic are the Dems believing Obama can enter into secret treaties without consent of Congress and the idea thst They have never skirted the
Logan Act themselves more than 7
Times
