I am still calling BS. It is either apples to oranges, or not a comprehensive search for alternatives to meet your needs. I am seeing too many people who actually have told me directly, on the radio, and on TV where premiums have actually dropped. I cannot address the deductible without knowing if this is an apple to apple comparison, or if you are paying an increase because of more policy. I will wait for our experts input, and there is a difference in lying and not comprehending options which you may not be aware.

Lisa12 wrote:He didn't say $500 increase.  The policy is $400 per month with a $6300 deductible.  The plan I am currently on is the same price with a $2100 deductible, but I received notification last month that the current plan will no longer be offered.  Ppaca is the agent I am using.  It would be a little hard to lie when he is a member of this forum...

My plan went up too so I am changing to another w/ a $500 deductible but no co-pays for any Drs. or specialists. My other one you had to meet the $500 before you could see a specialists but now the drug co-pay is $500.

You can call BS all you want. I am paying the same for a policy that increased the deductible to $6300.00. I certainly welcome ppaca to comment on this as we have had numerous conversations about it. I will be meeting with him next Friday to finalize everything.

Please provide an update next week. There are too many choices and options for you to settle for this type of increase. $400 per month increase and an increase in your deductible is NOT the best you can do if this is apple to apple. It simply is not. I will be here hopefully next week to have ppaca correct me, but this is twilight zone stuff.

Where do keep reading "increase"? It is NOT an increase in premium, just an increase in deductible.

Since I made the mistake I will endeavor to correct it....it is NOT A $400 a month increase...it's the deductible that is tripling almost....

My fault. I was referencing T's post. However, please report back as to the options that he offers next week. He clearly is good at what he does, and many here have commented on his help. Give us the apple to apple update when you have your final choice.

Please respond to this!!! I have my quotes in front of me to make sure I haven't misrepresented anything. The only discrepancy I see is that if I pay $410 per month, my deductible is a low, low $5750!!

He is good at what he does; however, he can only quote what is actually available.

Yes, Lisa is correct and I believe I sent her blue select plans that have a limited network. Sacred Heart hospital and Santa Rosa Medical Center hospitals, several doctor's now, but absolutely no out of network coverage.

Sorry folks but the ACA has slowed down medical costs and has provided great benefit to Americans, Millions and millions now have coverage, people are no longer tethered to jobs, children get extended coverage, and preexisting conditions are covered. In the short term, the transition to Medicare for all will not be perfect, but T's original incorrect post is the type of mythology which feeds irrational superstition. I await next week to see an example of how one health policy consumer did in this years marketplace.

So as not to invade anybody's privacy and duty to maintain the same under the law, let us for the sake of discussion talk about a theoretical person similar to Lisa. First, what was the existing policy that person had as to premium paid, scope of coverage, and deductible. Second, what existing choices does this theoretical consumer have in the morning when the new exchanges are open?

Looking for an apple to apple comparison. Also because you have dealt with health care coverage and especially individual plans, what was the average cost increase prior to the ACA from your experience as an average per year over the five years immediately preceeding the ACA. This is a very good discussion. PK, jump out of your Ivory tower and talk about things where the rubber meets the road.

Ok Ok I'm trying to play a tournament to the heartland poker tournament.

Viking and Seaoat all and I mean all the people that I have written in the past year and new ones calling are certainly not happy camper's. Most of their rates are becoming out of reach for them to continue health insurance.
