I would think most Americans would like to see lower taxes, but the devil is in the detail.......and that is the problem with the tea party........the lack of intelligent platforms to achieve government efficiency and realistic operations of the government. Simple solutions do not work in medical procedures and rarely work in government when you are appealing to dogma rather than solutions.

The Tea Party like most radical groups will soon decimate into a few coconuts just like the Klu Klux.

You're making a huge generalization based on biased and negative portrayals of Tea Party members. I am sure some are racists and intolerant but then so are some Democrats and Republicans.

That's what they say on paper but that's not what their actions are. The Tea Partiers are responsible for the govt. shutdown and trying to suppress the minority vote. They are radicals that believe it's their way or the highway. They are intolerant of religious diversity and ethnic cultures.

What I have mostly seen is that they're concerned about excessive government spending and the debt. Their platform is not radical. The Left has been very successful at demonizing them, however.

It is radical when you shut down the govt. trying to stop a national health care program.

Leftist talkingpoints. The only thing that scares progressives more than limiting govt... is cutting it's size and scope.

The Tea Party didn't shut down the government.   It was all of Congress. They wouldn't pass a damn budget. That is their job!   In fact, the Obama admin shut down stuff that shouldn't have been shut down.   And if opposing Obamacare is radical then the majority of Americans being polled are radical.

I do know this..... America is divided and it really kicked into high gear with the election of BHO and his antics while COWH. We are just as divided as we were in the 1960s when I grew up and was old enough to know there were issues. The Dems have taken a divide and conquer stance on every issue. The Tea Party is racist and anti immigration. It has gone by other names throughout American History, but it is the same old racist front whether it was the John Birch Society and the Koch Brother's father, or their sad attempt to fund the tea party.......yes, there are a small percentage of folks who are benign and want fairness, but the core is the same rotten apple which has come before. They have destroyed the once proud Republican Party with nitwits, and it will take years to repair the damage. Good government is hard. Sound bites and illusion are easy. It does not take bias to come to the conclusion of what the reality of the Tea Party is, rather one must be realistic, factual, and not naive.
