No law is perfect, but why this irrational fear? What forces are driving this dialogue so filled with misinformation and lies? If you can identify the same, I think we can find out who the traitors are. The Act is imperfect and all Americans should be working to make the law and our health system work more efficiently and work for quality health care which is affordable for our citizens. There is nothing socialistic about wanting a fair, efficient delivery of health care for American citizens........so what is this really about?

The traitors are Obama and the Democratic party as they force their mandates on the individual while they give their bedfellows the corporations a wink, nod, and a year, if ever, delay to comply with their glorious health care plan.

If there is nothing socialistic... why is there a mandate?

I dunno, Seaoat. The hysteria has driven at least two or three posters over in the Politics section to go stark raving mad. You know who they are. I am finding it totally amusing. I hope this shutdown drags on for at least another week, so everyone gets really mad at Congress and its current power-brokers. In the end, the person who blinks will be John Boehner. The cracks in his foundation are already appearing, with Republican moderates both in Congress and in state houses calling on him to find a way to end the shutdown.

The Teahadists screwed up by trying to connect the ACA to funding the government, and Boehner screwed up big time by giving in to that sorry bunch. The voters will remember next November, for sure.

Let me ask you something oats.

If we cut your household budget/income in half ( and you have no savings accounts ) will you be able to provide the same quality of living as you do for your family now?

My income has dropped by 80% since I became sick, yet I have never been happier, and I am blessed with excellent insurance. Why do I need to see tears from other Americans who are being denied health care. Why is not every American citizen important enough to be cared for while we crusade around the world spending trillions. This is simple. People matter. Politics do not. Special interests need to be slapped by the American people, and we need to take our country back.

The only ones that screwed up are Obama and the Democratic party in an attempt to force a tax that's not a tax on all individuals while allowing their corporate bedfellows a pass and sending Obama-Democrat-corporate shrills like you to talk to us independents and conservatives who wish to protect the individual.

Was the bed big enough for ya all?

If you need increased health care... Now how did you and a few others around here put it to those who oppose this glorious health care plan because you think it's about their earnings... Oh! That's right... You're free to get a second job to pay to for that increased health care...... In Sal's case it's probably his first job.

Worried about how Obama and the Democratic party might be perceived at this point?

I'm totally fine with the shut down.

ObamaCare has proven to be a train wreck, perfect isn't even seen at the end of the tunnel.

We told you so but COSTS are stunning people and they are finding out their deductible, in some areas is $5,000 to $13,000 plus the "insurance" only pays 60% to 72% of the costs leaving the patient with the deductible along with the 28% - 40% "co-pay".

I just love the efficiency our Govt has shown, historically and predictably over the private sector. Do you really believe they will shine on this one?

Better, if you do subscribe our benevolent govt will know every mole on your naked body.

Orwell was just a few years late.

People are shutting down servers as the demand for health care is so great. The standard Affordable Care Act policy is better than the type of health care policies which were worthless and sold before the affordable Care Act and the ones which Bob unfortunately had. People are now freed up to seek employment which meets their skill set, and not forced to stay with an employer because a precondition will not be approved at the next employer. So instead of indentured servants we have a work force which is free to choose employment, and will still be insurable.

I was the first to criticize the Affordable Care Act when it passed for its flaws, but the direction is correct and we need to work for the public option and single payer system. Providing an opportunity for Americans to have a safety net in health care is not socialism, it is common sense steps in meeting our founding fathers directive to provide for the general welfare of citizens. I think cooperative and supportive criticism is needed, not anarchy or special interest sabotage.

I've had $5000 deductible for years, after deductible have had 100% coverage. The american people wants this handed to them and always have co-pays for doctor's, co-pays for drugs and co-pays for everything
and never wanted to pay your fair share, now look where your selfishness has gotten you.

Hardly. It has given freedom and portability to average Americans, and the 100 who control the Republican Party feared this day would come as the war against the middle class has finally given ground as Americans come first.

Because in the real world there are tears and death and inequality no matter how you try to size it up.

And most people could not loose half their pay and still provide the same quality of life without a supplement, you must be filthy rich.

I tried to use a simple analogy for you and should have known better. I am not going to start over this conversation tat we have been talking about for 4 years on here just because you ask the same question over and over again like a child.

You got your obamacare so shut the fuck up already.

I read a couple of articles yesterday that just cracked me up. They were both "man on the street" interviews.

The general consensus of those interviewed was this: "I like the Affordable Care Act, but I can't stand Obamacare!"
