Hoist one for freedom my friends ... this Bud's for us! The outcry against our "limited" senseless punitive missile strike against Assad was loud enough to back Obama down.

Two opposing arguments won the day:

1) The threat of impeachment if the President took us to war on his own with no immediate national threat occurring.

2) Somebody (maybe Putin) wised up the POTUS that if Assad falls, it will be a coalition of Hezbollah and Al Quaeda people who will work to gain control of the new government and then create an Islamist-Sharia state.

When you look at the situation clearly, Assad starts to look like our best choice to keep Syria from becoming a terrorist bastion. And we should pray that Mubarak is reinstalled in Egypt!

What we need to learn is that if you wave the democracy flag at agitated Muslims, they will fight each other to create an Islamic state and then come after you with suicide bombers, etc.

We have enough problems with a dysfunctional form of democracy here, we don't need to waste time or effort trying to clone our mess overseas.

What we've got are two parties that won't compromise and our country is rapidly falling apart as a result. The "founding fathers" didn't dream it would turn out this way! They mistakenly assumed that everyone elected to congress would think of the country's needs first, and then the needs of the party.

What we've now got is a "failure to communicate."

Meanwhile, we need to keep the pressure on congress so they don't approve a one-time, meaningless attack on Syria that will not, Obama explained, alter Assad's military power or ability.

In other words, the object of our military punitive strike is apparently no object at all. And that's classic American politics!

He's gonna bomb regardless. Name the last time a POTUS didn't bomb when his mind was already made up? It's his POMPOUS attitude that got him into this situation drawing lines in the sand. They got crossed multiple times as the most notorious Syrian WMD attack wasn't Assad's only one in the last year. Obama HAS to save face for himself.

He said again he thght he had the right... but I'm very glad he didn't. Perhaps the public sentiment prevailed.

Good decision.

The view of our President by World Leaders.
Obama says he won't go alone and will seek congressional approval WimpObama-1
Not that there has been any change from the day President Barack Hussein Obama took office, he goes out of his way to look inept, indecisive and timid. Just exactly the way you want your enemies to view your leader.

He's a joke a very bad joke and I am ashamed of the people that not only put him there but still cling to HOPE that he might actually accomplish something beneficial...he's pathetic on a good day.
