Get real:  thousands of "new" jobs are part-time only in order for big thieves like Mcdonald's et al to increase profits by not paying healthcare costs.

And college graduates have to wait in line for these "entry level" jobs.

You really believe an American worker can survive on today's minimum wage?

Even at $15 an hour you're still making less than $30,000 a year.

It's idiots like you who keep Walmart laughing all the way to the bank.
Min wage isn't meant to be a permanent wage and it isn't meant to raise a family on.  It's a starting wage for someone with no training and no experience.   Very few people who have been in the work force for more than a year or so are still being paid min wage. You can call me an idiot but I think the idiots are the ones who think that a high school kid or a person with no experience should walk into any low level job where they have no training and expect $15 an hour.

Here you go, Wordslinger, this is the 2013 pay schedule for federal employees.   Starting pay for a GS 1-step 1 (this would be a low level job, starting position) is $17,803 a year.  That amounts to about $8.55 an hour.  But if you're hired on at this rate and you stay with the job, the pay increases over time.  And the benefits are pretty good.  But if you raise that GS 1- Step 1 pay to $15 an hour, then the entire scale will have to be adjusted upwards to reflect the increase in pay at every level. We're talking about around a 75% pay increase across the board.   What do you think will happen to the American economy if this happens, across the board with all businesses, in the USA?  And along with this, companies having to comply with Obamacare?
