Do you believe that if either Christian or Newsome had been armed that they would have been as afraid then as they were later on while they were being tortured by this animals. Call me afraid and living in fear if you want, but I will at least have a chance to take out 1 or 2 of them before they do me.

You may think that would be the case, but I have been jumped twice.   I never saw it coming, and when the three people had me on the ground pounding the snot out of me.........I was not getting to any gun like I was John Wayne, and the second time at a party somebody left the basement on a public street and slammed the door too hard and broke the glass.   A fellow with a knife was chasing my friend around a car when they came to get me, and I go out and stand in between the rabbit and the hound explaining that we had a lease on the building and would be making an insurance claim......the knife was to my throat before I could have ever got my concealed weapon........nope.....my guess somebody was getting real messed up regardless of conceal and carry, and my experience with predators is they can smell an opportunity.....they can also smell a threat and avoid the same.   Afraid and armed does not solve the problem.   Putting violent criminals behind bars and monitoring them with enough personnel when they are released is a solution.
I'm not sure at what is wrong with your mind, perhaps you are suffering from extreme guilt from your life and in some way are trying to go out like a gentle flower. Wink

either way, putting the violent criminals in the ground when they attack you is the best solution. Is it perfect, no. But it works many times.

Have you ever hurt someone either defending yourself or being the aggressor? I have. Until you realize that in a fight you do not control all the variables, nor can you always see it coming. If you think a gun is going to protect you......you have already lost the battle. I understand a gun in your home........but when you leave the safety of your home and want to play Rambo.....Training and more training, which you can see from the paper does not even guarantee good decisions in combat.........nope, I will take my chances unarmed until I am a weakling and an invalid......then I understand, but my chance will be no better.

I watched HBO boxing last night and a champ was out for a year because he was jumped by street thugs.......they messed him up and he would have the advantage....90% of the time......he did not......you think I am a nice person who is trying to make every thing rosy before I depart......I am not. I know what I speak.......anyone can be taken down....gun or not.

It sure is easier to take down an attacker with a gun, why the hell do cops carry guns if they are of no use you pacifist victim ? I dislocated a guys arm once and I felt nothing...call me unremorseful but if are going to fight you may very well get hurt.

The British to this day have most of their LEO without guns. They realize the need for guns, but do not put a gun on every Barney.....they are civilized, and a lot less of the stuff you have posted showing police abuses would happen if our police officers had to be more Andy like.

I don't know why they weren't sentenced to death.
That was tough reading.

If these murderers are not deserving of the death penalty, I don't know who is.

I don't know the law in Tennessee but in Florida we fortunately have a law that makes it unnecessary for a prosecutor to prove exactly who pulled the trigger or committed the murder. If you were sitting in the getaway car, while the murder was committed, you're just as guilty.
