A Pensacola man will stand trial today for his alleged part in the 2009 stabbing death of an 81-year-old.
Joseph McNeil, 32, is charged with murder in the death of Derry Dickerson.
Investigators allege that McNeil stabbed Dickerson several times at Dickerson’s home on Crescent Drive. McNeil stole money and beer from Dickerson before fleeing, authorities said.
McNeil was arrested in May 2012 in Pollack, La. after forensic tests linked him to the crime, authorities said.
The trial will take place in front of Circuit Judge Nicholas Geeker. It is expected to finish in one day.
