These people live in a la la land. they have no clue as to what obamacare really is.

right now there are a group of democrats trying to get a portion of obamacare revoked, the part that taxes medical devices. Im sure its because they are angry its going to raise the cost of taking care dogs and cats.

the only people who still want obamacare are the same ignorant ones who helped push it. I read on Medscape this week that like 60% of doctors say they will take a early retirement because of obamacare. as if we needed anything else to prove this bill is a POS. come 2014 when the shit starts hitting the common man is when you will see those ignorants crying, right now its just us in the medical profession taking the beating. speaking of that, I have to go to work now.

I'm curious: Which metrics will you nutties be monitoring in order to make an determination about the success or failure of Obamacare?

You've told us the taxes will crush the economy and kill jobs. If the economy keeps expanding and the jobs situation continues to improve, we can say you were wrong.

You've told us that there won't be enough doctors and our care will be compromised. I think that one is easy enough to monitor to see if you are wrong or not.

So, put in in writing on this thread. How, SPECIFICALLY, will you measure the success or failure of Obamacare.

I think that the 2016 presidential election will allow a good debate on whether the Affordable Care Act has been successful, and what modifications are needed. If unpopular equates with not understanding something, I guess I am not surprised with the lack of knowledge on issues in America. The 80-20, the pre existing conditions, the coverage for children to 26, and the exchange systems.......well what I am hearing is just the opposite. As people are learning they realize the Michell Bachmans of this world who think a little fairy dust will make this bill disappear, but truthfully growing numbers are supporting parts of this bill and in 2016 we should have vibrant debate on improving this system.

I agree Mr. Oats, the nation needs and deserves an open debate on the pros and cons because I do not know one person who knows all the twists and turns in this complex legislation and it begs for clarity.

I work in health care. I know how it has already effected us. there have been layoffs, there has been staff reductions and work increases to make up for the reduced fees. This is also causing a salary reduction which is tied to using less qualified personnel to preform task, which in turn creates a lower quality of care and higher incidence for medical error as a whole.

this is just in the beginning, because this year the gov had bribed docs to take on more Medicaid patients by increasing the Medicaid payment to medicare levels. but guess what, the gov hasn't paid them yet for that. check is not in the mail. so by the time the mandate rolls around, expect shortages.

My guess is when this is all said and done, it will create a mexico medcial care effect, where the rich who have cash will get the best treatments, and anyone on gov ins will wait..... or perhaps not get referals for special testing due to cost savings and hectic regulations put upon doctors who have to do so much to prove they need a specialist, they wont give the referral so easy. people will die.

That part of the bill covers primary care doctors and the checks are going to be sent with payments retroactive to the beginning of the year.
