Well, Seaoat, many if not most liberals blamed Bush for the problems before and after Katrina. If Bush was at fault then so is Obama.
This is really strained logic. There were tremendous failings by the Army Corps of engineers and Fema. In Sandy, I am sure there have been shortcomings in the response, but the scale is probably 100 to 1 compared to Sandy.
An example I have given on the PNJ before was the Army corp response on repairing the breached canal. For a solid day I watched dump trucks and helicopter try to close a three hundred yard breached gap in the canal walls. I started throwing things at the TV, and called an engineer who I was actively working with on an Army Corps project. I told him that his people were killing folks and WTF was wrong with them........it is nearly impossible to fill a gap in moving water at that scale, and WTF are they not putting steel pilings at the mouth of the canal to stop the flow of water into the canal. He responded that makes sense he would make some calls and two days later.....almost three days after this should have been done they put an excavator with hydraulic jack on a barge and in a matter of hours sealed both ends of the 60 ' canal and the secondary and totally avoidable flooding was stopped. I am not saying my call made this happen, but it certainly got some other engineers thinking which watching the ass backward response after Katrina was not happening. This was utter incompetence and in that situation the funding of relief for the victims was overshadowed by pure unadulterated incompetence. Congress quickly passed funding for Katrina.
To bring up Bush, or to try to make this about Obama is indicative of how serious the brainwashing has spread in this country and how effectively the dialogue has been corrupted. Sandy and its victims are suffering because of traitors in this country.....we will take our Republican party back and we will expel the traitors lock stock and barrel......may they rot in hell.
