Hey folks, maybe we could get back on topic now? I'm not sure this commissary issue will ever be resolved between the interested parties.

One other thing....does anyone think that federal employee unions would sit idle and say nothing while they watched contractors shopping at the commissary while the federal employees were denied that benefit? NO WAY!

But I don't think Dreams is lying. I read and hear false information all the time about military benefits and I don't think it's because people are lying. I would like for her to ask her sister, for sure, if she is able to shop at the commissary in San Diego. Not the NEX or the bowling alley--but specifically the commissary.

I will ask her and let you know to be absolutely sure. I may be confusing it w/ the NEX. We don't ask my sister many questions about her work as she has a top secret clearance and can't talk about much. I know she worked w/ secret messages that came in decoding them years ago and works w/ F-18's now but it is all very hush hush and may not even say what benefits she has.

Her peeps chimed in and added another 14 posts helping her against the awful posters who for the most part saw her ugly side yet again.

Ghost made 14 posts total....the majority to defend his remark that his wife shopped at the NAS Commissary.

Dreams made 11 posts indexed to civilians w/ Commissary shopping privileges.

I made 10 posts absolutely designed to show that Neko would argue w/ a stop sign for days on end, never admit ANY fault or wrong-minded posturing, generating another handful of posts from Neko & her peeps attacking me.

Bottom line....Neko and her supporters made 55 posts to attack Ghost, myself, and Dreams...... and defend Neko's original attack.

Ghost and Dreams and W_T_M made 35 posts, and another five posts were made by others in opposition to Neko's position.....40 total posts.

So who was the one who wanted this food fight, keep it going, and refused to accept any points of clarity made by her perceived adversaries....?

That would be Neko.


And before any of you attack me for this post, SeaOat admitted he spent at least an hour researching this entire issue. I spent about 15 minutes crunching the numbers.

My problem w/ all this is I don't know Ghost to be a liar. I believe his wife has commissary privileges and that's it in a a nutshell. I really don't think it's illegal and aside from what we read about commissary rules, the commander does have that authority,if it's in the contract. Fair or unfair-it is what it is.

I don't know anything about Ghost or his wife. I tend to believe that his wife or someone in his family has commissary access but I know what the directives say about government contractors and I know what my own experience has been over 30 years. The directives say that commissary access for contractors will not be in a contract except in an emergency or overseas.

Like I said...think about federal employee unions--they would never accept being excluded from commissary benefits while some contractors are allowed to shop. The law would never favor benefits for contractors over federal civilian employees.

Ditto that. I've exchanged PM's w/ Ghost for years...90% absolutely positive, even though we have some disagreements on certain issues. Neko's attack on his integrity was uncalled for and the ensuing crap from her, predictable.

Strangely, my sister called tonight-the govt. contract employee. I have four of them and this is what she said. She does not have commissary privileges when she is at home. I was wrong about that. She has commissary privileges when she is on travel within the US. She doesn't have to be overseas or a remote area. She said she has never heard of getting commissary privileges in a contract. She said you must show an ID at the commissary and they are only issued to dependents,active and retired.

That makes more sense, Dreams. Like I said before, I have heard of civilians having commissary privileges for their meals while on duty (to grab lunch or a snack), but not for grocery shopping to take a load of groceries home with them.
