A quote worthy of permanence - maybe as an embroidered wall sampler (though I might presume to add the word "about" at the very end - lol). Anyone here have embroidery skills?

P.S. Would also change "none of us have" to "none of us has" (just in case anyone's actually gonna make an embroidery sampler).

HA.  Just kidding, and just being a grammatical pain in the patoot on purpose.   Smile

Will that typically be covered by health insurance/Medicare/whatever she has? Hope so.

My Palative care and soon hospice care is all covered by medicare. They will set up the hospital bed, install the o2, and install bedside commode all covered services. The best part is if things get really bad, I get five days at the facility with no charge. I have to say my end of life services and medicare have exceeded all expectations. The idea that some zillionaire is getting a tax break and people want to cut medicare hits home when friends and family are dying.

You paid for it... many times over in all likelihood.

Amen, brother.

Am still hoping Joani's friend is covered as well.

Weak yesterday am. Had to call the ambulance. My friend was admitted to SHH with dehydration. My niece drove down last night.

All care is covered by Medicare and federal BC/BS.

Will go to interventional Radiology today to check for tube placement and patency. Hoping they can insert the tube passing the tumor.

IR doc at SHH was able to insert the Jejunum tube passing the tumor. This will prevent the massive fluid loss. So thankful.

It is nice to catch a break. This is hard on her, and based on the transport to the hospital, it sounds like she is very weak. small steps...

In ER with my friend. GI bleeding into her ostomy bag. Hemoglobin 3.4 . Referral to GI and admission. We were in the ER for a nosebleed last week and she got 2 units of blood. Hemoglobin then was 6.9.

GI doc said he has never seen hgb that low. Will continue giving her units of blood today, prep and do an endoscopy through the J tube. Suspect the bleeding is from the tumor. I cleaned and irrigated her colostomy bag, still see a few small clots in the stoma,

As far as I know clotting studies are normal.

Her daughter had me irrigate her Jtube and gastric tube... no blood so the bleeding is below the tumor.

OH gosh, Joanie, that's scary as all get-out. Fingers and toes crossed for a good outcome! Let us know how it goes...

I was in GBH myself for three and a half days last weekend with pancreatitis.

Not a good year for our group and friends.

We need to stay healthy... my son had pancreatitis several years ago. Very painful and scary. Thankfully no cancer and he is not and has never been a drinker.
