Especially how the video catches the reaction of the cop aftr he's committed murder.
We've definitely got a problem with police training in the country.   And it's not just the redneck south,  this was in that Yankee shithole Minnesota.

Where is the video with audio? I just watched it on msn and no audio. I only saw part of it on tv this morning just as I got up and it didn't click.

Never been to Minnesota, but I have said it before on this forum the north is full of what people refer to as rednecks, bigotry is very much alive in yankee land.

But cops do need better training.

Up until I enlisted in the military I always thought a redneck was a catholic. Why? Well, everyone where I grew up called us Catholic kids rednecks because we had to wear white shirts and ties to school daily. If it wasn't redneck it was mackerel snapper's because at that time we had to eat fish on Friday's.

No Bob.....it is politics.  You realize weed is still a crime at the federal level.   That we cannot even decriminalize weed as our prisons fill with non violent offenders and the politics of fear and division allow a openly fascist candidate for president.   Where one voting block consistently creates this militarization of a nation and the creation of a police state.   Sure, I have argued for years the failures of training as police officers shoot tasers from moving squads and run over black kids like they were dogs and no grand jury is convened.   Instead, a fricking coroners inquiry........to shield the officer from a grand jury.    No it is mostly regional.   When Alabama votes for a Democrat, and Georgia votes for a Republican, and this entire region of the country quits in lock step trying to take us back to Jim Crow, then maybe the constitutional rights of all citizens will be respected over the entire nation.....but when this block keeps moving our politics to stupid.......do not be suprised at our police state or the murder of our citizens.

No this is not about legalizing marijuana.  It's about how a sorry untrained excuse for a cop murdered an innocent person over a goddamn tail light.
And how the fucking cop will probably not be charged with murder when you or I would.
If I was black I wouldn't have anything to do with cops after this. I would try to stay a mile away from any of them.

Bob it is. It is about politics first and foremost. No person can argue with training, but when a police state has been created in the last forty years it is entirely about politics. Richard Nixon launched the southern strategy to get elected in 1968. He did this by making he major plank about law and order. In a baby boom bubble of rampant crime, and the strictures of Jim Crow being defeated by armed federal troops and the courts, there was a massive flow of former dixicrats to the Republican Party, where democrats were seen as soft on crime, where drug prosecution was ramped up where 1 in 3 blacks in their lifetime will see some jail cell, and the Supreme Court in lock step began making exception after exception to fourth amendment protections on search and seizure.

Compound this with the militarization of our society, special interests groups manipulating hate to form an evil coalition against America where the vision of our founding fathers was bastardized. You can train until the cows come home, but if you do not make budget cuts and start to dismantle this police state and military society we live, then the barnies will continue to stomp on citizen rights. Conceal and carry and the illusion of safety with a man in your pocket, has left every police officer on a routine traffic stop scared..yes scared.....they want to go home to their loved ones, but this idea that armed citizens in the street is a good idea....is politics.....the politics of fear which in the last analysis has a police state increasing scared to death of its own citizens.....the Sheriff of Nottingham has taken Andy and thrown him out of Mayberry. Politics made this mess, and politics and courage will need to clean it up.

All I know is I saw Al Sharpton be interviewed on Morning Joe today and he was putting more emphasis on nationwide lack of training than racism.  And when Al Sharpton puts more emphasis on ANYTHING more than racism,  I think that's a pretty good indication he's probably right.
You can stream the interview on the morning joe website.

I have argued on the PNJ about police training since a child was shot at by a taser from a moving squad and then was run over by a car like he was a dog. Training is obviously failing, but when you convince the wussies of this nation that they have to walk around with a firearm, you try being the only officer within 10 minutes in a rural area pulling a car over and not get the scared part. Officers are scared. People are packing and being convinced that this has to be the wild west.

We also have just lost our minds with the budgets of police, fire, and military. You get attacked immediately if you stand up and talk about the same. When I ran for office as a Republican, I went to the police chief association and told them that we have too many small departments with redundancy, and inefficiency, and that we need to have regional law enforcement infrastructure where instead of 10 police chiefs we have one police chief and officers on the street.......needless to say I was not given a recommended by the police chief organization, but police chiefs said I nailed it. You cannot get elected in America telling the truth about what has to be done. It takes courage to try to change things. In my case one issue I could solve in the first ten minutes I was in office, but it took 15 years to solve the problem and take my advice because what I suggested was not popular.

Cut the military budget. Cut the police budget. Cut the fire budget. Get non violent offenders out of prisons, and lower tuitions nationwide by investing in America, not those who appear to give us security but drag our economy down the tube with the weight of the teat suckers who when the budget gets discussed it is us vs them. Training is only the tip of the iceberg.

Bob it has everything to do with the politics of the south. I guess Hallmark said it best....at some point we just need to give up because with age comes wisdom, but how many people have to be shot unarmed in cars, or stopped for no fricking reason driving in their neighborhood in Pensacola. shame.
