I have argued on the PNJ about police training since a child was shot at by a taser from a moving squad and then was run over by a car like he was a dog. Training is obviously failing, but when you convince the wussies of this nation that they have to walk around with a firearm, you try being the only officer within 10 minutes in a rural area pulling a car over and not get the scared part. Officers are scared. People are packing and being convinced that this has to be the wild west.
We also have just lost our minds with the budgets of police, fire, and military. You get attacked immediately if you stand up and talk about the same. When I ran for office as a Republican, I went to the police chief association and told them that we have too many small departments with redundancy, and inefficiency, and that we need to have regional law enforcement infrastructure where instead of 10 police chiefs we have one police chief and officers on the street.......needless to say I was not given a recommended by the police chief organization, but police chiefs said I nailed it. You cannot get elected in America telling the truth about what has to be done. It takes courage to try to change things. In my case one issue I could solve in the first ten minutes I was in office, but it took 15 years to solve the problem and take my advice because what I suggested was not popular.
Cut the military budget. Cut the police budget. Cut the fire budget. Get non violent offenders out of prisons, and lower tuitions nationwide by investing in America, not those who appear to give us security but drag our economy down the tube with the weight of the teat suckers who when the budget gets discussed it is us vs them. Training is only the tip of the iceberg.
Bob it has everything to do with the politics of the south. I guess Hallmark said it best....at some point we just need to give up because with age comes wisdom, but how many people have to be shot unarmed in cars, or stopped for no fricking reason driving in their neighborhood in Pensacola. shame.
