Total Chaos in Baltimore.

Baltimore creates their own problems by NOT being transparent about the inexcusable death of Freddie Gray.

Police seem confused as to any strategy.

Three competing street gangs have supposedly aligned themselves together to "get cops".

No word from the Governor and the inept Mayor stated yesterday.

What no one expected is what Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake admitted in a press conference on Sunday: that she asked the Baltimore Police Department to “give those who wished to destroy space to do that.”

That mayor is a moron. Somebody needs to put a muzzle on her.

Half the politicians in this country are morons.  And the other half are crooks. Both democrat and republican.  And they were all elected too.
Doesn't say much for "the people" does it.

What a spectacle. I've got it on CNN. Moments ago the firefighters (a black and a white) struggled to get water pressure from a hydrant to get water to try to keep the neighborhood from burning down.
And then after they finally got the water going, a thug ran up to the fire hose and sliced it with a knife.

I shudder to think what's gonna happen to Baltimore after the sun goes down.

(CNN) - A riot erupted on the streets of Baltimore late Monday as protesters clashed with police, several of whom were injured.

"This afternoon, a group of outrageous criminals attacked our officers. Right now, we have seven officers that have serious injuries, including broken bones, and one officer who is unconscious," Capt. Eric Kowalczyk told reporters.

He vowed to find the attackers and put them in jail.

Video showed police in riot gear taking cover behind an armored vehicle, as protesters pelted them with rocks.

At one point, it looked like officers used tear gas. The Baltimore Police Department said it had heard reports of protesters setting small items on fire, and footage showed a cruiser in flames.

Video also showed people looting local stores.

"You're going to see tear gas. You're going to see pepper balls. We're going to use appropriate methods to ensure that we're able to preserve the safety of that community," Kowalczyk said.

Chaos.  Looting, assaulting, burning, poor blacks attacking police and burning their own neighborhoods out of frustration.

The cause, of  course, is a collection of factors: extreme police brutality over decades, combined with 26% unemployment.  Streets taken over by drug gangs.  Poor quality public education.  One parent households., etc.

What we're seeing is the failure of American capitalism and democracy.

It'll probably bump up to 27% unemployment or higher.  First of all they burned out that CVS store which probably employed several African Americans.  And many of the stores in that neighborhood will be shut down indefinitely,  including the ones looted and ransacked and the ones which weren't because they're on the same street where all the destruction occurred,  resulting in even more jobs lost by African Americans. And a few minutes ago we learned there are now ten different pockets of looting going on as we speak. More destruction, more jobs lost.

A strong lack of morality,  entitlement, combined with wothless POS. Burning, looting, and riots ......It's Not frustration.

Poor Socialist/Communist Wordslinger can't bring himself to accept responsibility for this chaos.

Semi-retired President Obama promised to bring down unemployment among minorities and instead, due to his policies, it has increased.

Who is the political party running Baltimore and who has been for many years?

Total chaos in Baltimore.

If you've been watching CNN instead of those two other wrastlin cable news channels, you will have seen some really impressive African Americans out in the streets confronting this violence. And the most impressive are the various clergy. Very articulate and very determined to put a stop to this violence.

I hope you got to see this, wordslinger.

And that includes the Baltimore Police Commissioner.

No excuses, but this is how I feel

It makes me angry to see the riots and destruction of property because it's senseless, useless, and costly. It takes away from a movement for justice that I believe is absolutely necessary.
It also makes me angry because, even though there were thousands of peaceful protests, the focus on here is the small percentage of criminals that are looting and rioting. Where is the outrage for what happened to Freddie Gray or Walter Scott? Why no comments on those cases?
It also makes me angry because it makes some of you feel that your distorted, blinded perception of what is going on in these communities is validated.

Ask CNN, ask the Mayor of Baltimore, ask the Govenor of Baltimore, ask the new AG, ask the many pastors out trying to stop what is occuring.  Looting, rioting, destroying and burning property, injuring police officers is what has taken over the news priority at the hands of thugs. Thugs,  the word used by all officials.

It's certainly a tragic and unfortunate cycle.

We have an entire demographic of impoverished young black males who are criminally suspect due to their very existence and to whom it is demonstrated regularly that their lives have no value to society.

And, when a small segment of that demographic lashes out in frustration and anger, privileged whites wag their fingers and say, "Told ya, they're all thugs".

The THUG term was used by the Maryland and Baltimore officials and POTUS. So stuff it.

You completely missed the point of my post. I was talking about people like you, Markle, and Karl Rove.
I don't take my cues from CNN or those others you mentioned, but those same people were on many times talking about Freddie Gray before the riots. What were your comments regarding his death then?

What about when we were bombarded on the news with the killing of Walter Scott? When they showed him being shot in the back over and over again. Where were your comments then? Where was the outrage then?

I agree that the looting, destruction of property, and rioting is criminal. It's offensive. But, I am also deeply troubled by the death of Freddie Gray, Walter Scott, Eric Garner, and so many others.

Why don't the looters and rioters expend as much energy in peaceful change? are they not articulate enough to do so?

I disagree with you, nadalfan, that Sal made the best comment.
I think you did that when you said...

Sal only talked about the last of the two points you made in that post and in his post he left the first one out.

I did not miss the point and I do not need to be scolded by you.

I do not approve of police violence and if the police are guilty they need to be prosecuted.
