I continue to be a strong supporter of our ally and friend Israel. However, this has gone too far. The audacity of the Prime Minister declaring as if Israel was the 51st State of America that support of Israel is Bipartisan and without dissent or political debate. Guess what? He is going to start the political debate. How many American kids and how much American wealth must be spent on a friend who takes our friendship for granted. It is time to cut back about 10% of the aid to Israel to send a clear message......friends do not treat friends like they are to be taken for granted. Our friendship and support has been grossly under appreciated when a leader of a foreign country declares that support for his country is uniform and without debate, and then attempts to change our foreign policy to put Americans in harms way......this time our friend has gone too far.....it is time for a wake up call.....it is time for partisan debate about this friendship.......it is time for a certain Prime Minister to be no longer the representative of our friend.

Israel has never asked for ONE US military member to fight its battles-ever.

I've already posed that question in another thread. You're an anti-Semite just like Z.  You make me sick along with the COWH who said he would shoot down Israeli jets if they made an attack on Iran. America isn't mentioned in Revelations because it will be an also-ran for its lack of support for Israel. try picking up your Bible instead of the poker cards or golf clubs for once. Read Genesis 12:2-3

2And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing; 3And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed."

Now look back in history and see all of the nations who came against Israel and how they turned to dust and lost favor with God.

Nonsense. All of it nonsense. The United States of America has defined self interest. Part of that self interest is a long and strong friendship with the state of Israel. A modern Western democracy in a turbulent Middle East. For a person to be a patriotic American concerned about American kids and American wealth does not turn them into an anti semite. My writings for 10 years have shown clearly that I am a strong supporter of Israel, and have no tolerance for prejudice. Yes, many members of this forum are clearly presupposed to prejudice in regard to Israel, but I have challenged them for years on those presuppositions. However, this has NOTHING to do with presuppositions. This has to do with differing national interests and the audacity of a foreign leader to take our friendship and aid for granted. It is time that our support for Israel in fact to become a political partisan debate, and that our interests be defined and corrected, because the arrogant declarations of a foreign leader as to what America must do have no place in America.....NONE!

2seaoat

And the one who curses you I will curse.

So tell me Pace......how does the bible square up with pre 1948 Israel, and the British Mandate, and before that the Turkish............was Britain Israel.....was Turkey Israel.......you need to read your bible because you have little understanding.....render onto Caesar what is Caesar's..........we might as well be talking about a Turkish leader coming to this country and saying the support for Turkey is Bipartisan.....and absolute......total nonsense!

If Israel was to take the borders that God gave it, it would be as far East as Iraq, as far north as Turkey, and south into Egypt. Go read your Bible and figure it out.

Wrong again. You are working on a record. So you are wrong on the bible and you are wrong on the secular nation states of our world when you say that if we do not march lock step with Israel.....they will be destroyed. I know few Americans who would stand idle if that was a valid proposition. It is not. More hysteria from scardy cats who are shills for MIC and the nation state Israel which is something quite different than the bible.

Then he brought me back to the door of the temple, and behold, water was issuing from below the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was flowing down from below the south end of the threshold of the temple, south of the altar. Then he brought me out by way of the north gate and led me around on the outside to the outer gate that faces toward the east; and behold, the water was trickling out on the south side. Going on eastward with a measuring line in his hand, the man measured a thousand cubits, and then led me through the water, and it was ankle-deep. Again he measured a thousand, and led me through the water, and it was knee-deep. Again he measured a thousand, and led me through the water, and it was waist-deep. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you. As usual, not one bit of substance to Z's post. Just another REPEAT in the same thread

Bigotry is not the issue. The issue of this thread is that a world leader is dictating to this country that their country is not a partisan issue. This goes to political debate about aid, defensive alignments, and fear that a close friend could be reckless and attack another nation which we are trying to negotiate.

To call such rebuke of arrogance anti- Semitism is to deny that America is a sovereign nation and that our power is limited by the dictates of an ally or one who posses control over this nation? If I do not recognize that control, and find the same not to be in America's National interest on certain issues, I am not an anti-Semite. I am a person who has defended the nation state of Israel, but recognizes that more American blood and wealth to enrich the MIC and not resolve issues is not in America's interest.

It seems rather counter productive to use ancient writings to guide our foreign relations in such a specific way. When fundamentalist readings of the holy books (Old and New Testaments and Qur'an) gets mixed with military/political moves of nations gets quite messy.

In another comment on this subject, I provided a link to a protest of Israeli military officers who are against  Bibi's political campaign posturing, and against his policies as well, relevant to the defense of Israel.  Semi-sane Markle, as usual, couldn't wait to label anyone against Netanyahu's outrageous political pandering an anti-Semite.  But then again, who but someone who loves to toss racial bombs would write:  "I know NOSSING" when referring derisively to a Latino?  Reality!!

I think that after today, Netanyahu will wish he had not listened to that bonehead who runs our Congress. The smarter thing would have been to kindly reject Boehner's offer and just stay home. The posturing of both Boehner and Netanyahu over this reflects very badly on both of them.

In the end, President Obama is not going to be the one with egg on his face.

What about Boehner, Netanyahu and the sycophantic posters on this forum (Markle and PeeDog) who fall over themselves to support them?
