That stuff is awesome, and very easy to prepare. Disregard the advice online about 3 or 4 drops of hot chilli sauce. You have to add about 2 tsps to get the right taste.

I just can't eat shrimp. I hate the way shrimp taste, boiled, grilled, fried, or prepared any way.
The last time I ate a shrimp was years ago. It was a traumatic experience. I was a guest for dinner at someone's house, and the lady of the house served shrimp cocktails as an appetizer. As a guest, I could not be a jerk and tell her I hated shrimp, so I managed to choke down the appetizer. It tasted terrible, but I squeezed it down. Haven't eaten a shrimp since (29 years....).
Shrimp is great when used as bait to catch fish, which I love to eat. The same analogy applies to squid/chalimari--great for fish bait, not so good for eating.

Pretty please, sugar and spice on top!
riceme wrote:Oooo... Thank you so much, doll! I actually have all ingredients in-house save for the mayonnaise (which is strictly against my religion... I HATE mayonnaise, but will allow for it in this case), scallions and shrimpies.
YUM YUM BANG BANG!
I usually substitute any recipe that calls for mayo with either sour cream or plain yogurt, but I don't think that would work well in this case.

Here you go:
Bonefish Grill's Bang Bang Shrimp
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup Thai Sweet Chili Sauce
3 drops Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce (or to taste)
1 pound shelled and deveined shrimp
Dry cornstarch
oil for frying
lettuce
chopped scallions
DIRECTIONS:
Mix mayonnaise with Thai Sweet Chili Sauce. Add hot sauce to taste. Dredge the shrimp in cornstarch. Deep fat fry the shrimp until lightly brown. Drain on paper towel, put in a bowl and coat with the sauce. Serve in a lettuce lined bowl, top with chopped scallions.
