You're miserable, so why not admit that you demand the same for everyone shared misery?

I am not miserable. I have received unlimited opportunity in this great nation with a fair level playing field where my efforts were rewarded with wealth and security. Immigrants in this great nation have gone from poverty in wealth often in less than one generation. The American dream is very real and thriving.

However, just like the fed's regulation of monetary policy, Congress has a mandate which is clear in our founding fathers directive to promote the general welfare of the people. If you recognize that economics is a science, and that there are clear economic principles which seforth that demand drives GDP, and that our revolution was fought because of economic exploitation of the American colonist where their general welfare took a back seat to the monarchy and the monied class who exploited the colonist under the cover of law, you would realize that the minimum wage is a tool to maximize GDP, minimize governmental assistance, and stop wealth which has no patriotism or loyalty to the United States from exploiting the American worker. Where the least amongst us are the exploited, and where the taxpayer must pay indirect subsidy to those employers who exploit Americans by not paying living wages, the minimum wage in a very scientific manner can be set to maximize GDP, and minimize taxpayer subsidy to corporations and the least amongst us. It is not a zero sum game where at one end is socialism and the other unfettered capitalism, rather it is a scientific blend.

I do not agree with politicians arbitrarily raising minimum wage in huge increments. The science of economics tells us this can be inflationary and counterproductive, rather we should let those economic advisors give us the best blend of incremental minimum wage increases which maximizes GDP and provides for the general welfare of Americans. This is not socialism, rather it is sound science if we are true to our constitution and the directives contained therein.

General welfare is not a redistributive entitlement. It means simply an undertaking that benefits all... like roads.

But you know that... and choose to ignore it. Do you have an economics degree too?

I believe this article was written with Pkr in mind. This is only one graph from the article, which is pretty self-explanatory, unless your brain is mush.

What do you have since semi-retired President Obama took office? The gap has gotten far wider due to the sorry policies of President Obama and his minions.

You mean Socialism.  How well has that worked?

How much is a "livable minimum wage" and why should there be one at all?

You know this but please share with us what percentage of workers, earning minimum wage is the sole worker in a household?

You're miserable, so why not admit that you demand the same for everyone shared misery?

OK, we get it.  You worship the rich and work to help them gain more power over the rest of us.  Tell us why you hate the poor, please.

It's good to know your enemies.

How is it you forgot that Communism failed in Eastern Europe and Russia?

So having a living minimum wage equals communism?  Like I said, it's good to know your enemies!!

Can't answer can you, so you say nothing and tell us to know you.  We do.

No, I won't try your rigged game again.  It's irrelevant anyway -- the issue isn't defined by your question.  It's defined by how many people are unable to meet their needs without some form of state aid.  Walmart employees whose earnings keep them below the poverty level are a good example.  We taxpayers are subsidizing Walmart with food stamp costs.  You want to get rid of minimal wages so that your favorite 1% can have more power over the rest of us.  Face it Markle, you are convinced the ultra rich deserve to rule.  And you wonder why we can't take you seriously?

What you obviously long for are the good ole robber baron days, when there were no minimal wage limits, no unions, and no limits to how even children were exploited -- even killed -- to earn more profits for pigs like your favorites.  And you claim to be a Christian?  The shame of it!!

Tell us why we should go back to those "good old days!"

Now for our resident Socialist/Communist, Wordslinger is playing like 2seaoat. Facts crush his theories so he simply ignores what is happening and the results.

Also reduced to shouting. I am SO impressed.

You know, you simply can't face the FACTS and TRUTH.

Why?

It is so easy being a far left Progressive, one doesn't have to think, one needs only to FEEL TO GOOD. Measureable results, FACTS, TRUTH are all immaterial, unimportant and irrelevant.

Measurable fact.....President Obama did not drive the economy into the ditch and dump millions from the middle class.....he is driving the vehicle out of the ditch......and doing a very good job, I might add.

Do I have an economics degree.....no just graduate course work, and a thesis on economic integration in Latin America, but really, I was given an EASY button which allows me to look at concepts and understand the same.....I would share it with you, but heck your conceptual approach to subjects are too damn creative for me to let you use the easy button, I respect creativity in my grandchildren and they can be damn perceptive sometimes, and I learn.

2seaoat

You know, you simply can't face the FACTS and TRUTH.

I can.....surprise me with a cut and paste which is coherent, and has any basis in economic theory.

Facts: Wages have remained stagnant or even decreased in the last decade, except for the ultra rich. It goes back to the headline of this thread, America is one of the world's richest countries yet the number of its poor increases every day.

I'm sure that brings pretentious pricks like you considerable glee.

No one cares whether you're impressed or not. It's not socialism to expect a living wage in a capitalist economy. Your brain has been fried by FOX and Limbaugh.
