The Escambia County Health Department has confirmed another human case of West Nile Virus in the area, Tuesday. It will make the third case in the area for this year.

The virus is spread to humans through bites from infected mosquitoes. Officials have said this season’s particularly wet weather appears to be contributing to mosquito activity. Health officials said the news of a third infection indicates a very high risk of other people in the area becoming infected.

Health Department Associate Director Dr. Susan Turner said that since most people who contract the virus have few to no symptoms, it is likely that there are numerous unreported cases in the area. The health department has not released the locations of the reported cases.

Me:

I'd like to know what "locations" people were bitten at. Is it concentrated to one area or spread out? I have been using a product called Bifen IT, for two yrs now and it works great. It kills bout 72 bad insects but in my experience, it works best against ants and mosquitoes. I was buying it at the address below but bought my last 3/4 gl container on ebay as it was cheaper. It seems now, that it has gone up in price on ebay+s/h & is cheaper to buy it at the website below, as they offer free shipping.

I spray it around & on my home, fences, trees/bushes. It creates a barrier & last for several months. I usually spray every (5) weeks on average. I highly recommend this product. I bought a cheapo Harbor Freight (4) gl backpack sprayer, as my main sprayer. I use a 409 type spray bottle, to spray ant beds.

Bifen IT with Bifenthrin 7.9%. Bifen IT- pt yields up to 49 gallons depending on target pests. Compare Bifen IT to Talstar P. Both have the same product label and work the same. As a synthetic pyrethroid, Bifen IT is a low odor chemical and may be used inside or outside. It is mostly used outside around the perimeter and in yards for insects such as fleas and ticks, however has over 75 pests on the label.

Bifen IT is a product that does not break down easily with rain once it bonds to the surface.
Bifen IT is a clear substance and leaves no stain on painted surfaces
Active Ingredient : Bifenthrin 7.9%
long residual

And why the hell NOT???

I, for one, think this should be common knowledge. I don't need the address of the person(s) affected, but a neighborhood would be great to know.

I agree, Seems to me they should have a general idea of where the infected areas are. Unless its spread out, which wouldnt be good.

They all got bit at a Wahoos game at the maritime park. Studer's puppets at the Mayor's Office is preventing the Health Dept from notifying citizens of this ongoing danger. Could result in severe loss of ticket & concession sales, if the public knew where em evil skeeters resided at.
