I was a kid who followed the home run tally that entire summer. It was a special time, and I thought the movie did a pretty good job of capturing the Yankees and the early 60s.

"The Pride of the Yankees" with Gary Cooper. That one was a tearjerker if there ever was one. I liked "Field of Dreams" too.
