Security professionals urge disabling Java on your PC, saying that the computer language has created an "open hunting season on consumers" for hackers.

"Java is a mess. It's not secure. You have to disable it."

After having no comment from Oracle when this first hit the media, they are now promising a fix soon. Now the question is, how long is "soon"?

I just went to Control Panel > Uninstall and looked for Java and uninstalled it. Once they get the fix installed I will go to Java.com and reinstall it.

For those that want the info, Oracle has released the fix for the aforementioned vulnerability.
