Can you link us to some of that "wave" of sentiment?PkrBum wrote: I've been reading a wave of this sentiment

But I won't be surprised if no one is for it now... but most are after a long pr agenda and a crisis or two.
Control is effective ownership anyway... just look at the coal industry.

They will never do that. Mineral rights are owned, bought, and sold as private property in this country. It would be like the government nationalizing your house or farm.

I managed to find this on huffington post...

As you can see it's a scathing attack on a government owned utility.

Never say never. Ever heard of eminent domain, if enough support was generated, enough people were wanting it then it could happen. Would be easy for the government to exercise eminent domain for the good of the people and purchase all the mineral rights. Look at Obamacare, enough people wanted it, obamacare happened, obama got re-elected. so never say never.

Useless blathering in both of those articles.... It will not happen.
Most all people who want electricity can afford to have it. And the cost of it is not escalating at a rate significantly greater than the rate of inflation.alecto wrote:
They said we would never have nationalized healthcare and we are steadily on our way to that. Like I said never say never.

Excellent point. I kinda thought that was a very weak analogy....
