Our military budget is obscene. Our founding fathers are turning over in their graves

They warned us about standing armies and the threat to the Republic, but yet the defense budget was increased by almost 65 billion dollars per year. India is rated the fourth strongest military in the world and they spend in total 50 billion a year on military spending and have four times the people. England is rated about 7th as a military power and they spend about half of the 65 billion a year.

We have lost the courage for civilian control of the military as the very thing IKE warned us has happened. We are under a military coup. If you think not.....try to reduce the almost 600 billion a year in that budget. They bought congress and they profit like leeches on the vitality of the American public. it is time to put some cigars on those leeches and burn them out of existence.

It is gotten so bad that the propaganda has folks thinking that our military is some type of international police force doing good. It is not. It is part of an evil tradition of colonialism and theft, and we are less safe today with this top heavy behind the times military than we have been anytime in my lifetime. Enough. Cut military budgets drastically and return the country to the people.

The military budget like the Sheriff's budget in Escambia County grows exponentially, and when civilian elected officials try to apply budget standards to the same, these folks pout, threaten, claim folks are anti military or police, and finally get more money......again and again without having the same commons sense applied to a budget. We are less safe today in America than we were almost 36 years ago as Ronald Reagan bankrupted America busting the budget to spend on the military to fight in Granada, Panama, Iraq, and afghanastan, and yet against nation states with tactical minature nukes our 20 trillion dollar military platform is vulnerable, yet there is no discussion of cutting back and positioning America to be defensive, rather than the evil colonial war mongering nation we have become.

Ok. Did anybody really believe the premise of the movie that the Russians and Cubans invaded the Western United States and a group of high school kids held them off? The war propaganda has to start with a premise which justifies that absurd plot line. Just like the current absurd plot line of spending 65 billion more this year on defense budget than last year will actually make us stronger. Who the hell is a threat to mainland America, and what are the probabilities of the same. I say .0001 chance.
