The revolution we fought was mostly against the British Oligarchy whose wealth required our manufactured goods be squashed and that we supply their factories with raw material. They tried to do exactly what our current Oligarchy has accomplished in thirty years of trickle down policies.

This means that companies currently have aggressive incentives to give shares to the C-suite, while modest to no incentive to give shares to middle-class workers.
