The revolution we fought was mostly against the British Oligarchy whose wealth required our manufactured goods be squashed and that we supply their factories with raw material. They tried to do exactly what our current Oligarchy has accomplished in thirty years of trickle down policies.

An example of how the tax code benefits the already well to do and makes getting ahead more difficult for others. I wonder how many other such situations in the code exist, a lot I imagine. This is the sort of thing that is exacerbating the shrinking of the middle class.

Yet a small business owner or a large corporation that wants to offer an ESOP or other kinds of shares beyond the C-suite to middle-class workers often has only a very modest tax deductions that are tightly capped and controlled. This means that companies currently have aggressive incentives to give shares to the C-suite, while modest to no incentive to give shares to middle-class workers.
