Nothing wrong with having hopes and dreams, Sea - "Think long," I always say. Heck, you've already proven that mind over body can work wonders. Who can say you won't make it to Cape Coral? Could you fly?

In any case the weekend excursion sounds good, presuming the trip won't be too hard on you, and I think it's so cool that daughter and grands want to spend more quality time with granddad. Super that you can feel free to indulge in fine foods (or at least sample them), and by all means take advantage!

Enjoy the family and keep in touch as/when you're able. Hope the sando shot provides some significant relief. Let us know!

Best news is stabilized weight - you must be doing something right!

Your posts are more fun than Donald Trump's tweets. Laughing

Worried about that BP, tho. How to remedy?

Increase fluids and avoid high carb foods.

The girls just went with my wife and daughter to the museum of modern art. I am too weak even for the wheelchair, so we are saving our energy for a trip to cheeseburgers at billy goat tavern. Then half price appetizers at happy hour which has these incredible appetizers

https://www.eddiev.com/happy-hour/il/chicago-restaurant/8515

It is funny that another attorney in the SA office who worked with my daughter brought her twin daughters to the hotel across the street and they are going to the Art Museum. The Art Museum is incredible. People who can expose kids to this excellence give those children such an advantage. The civilization of downtown chicago is incredible.

We have decided since the partnership disbursement to live out of hotels for about a week eating food to get my weight up. I can barely get out of bed now so it is only a matter of weeks before what they predicted will happen. I am getting very close to not being able to get off the toilet. My weight is stable at 159. If it goes much lower, it is over......eating is very painful both ways as my body is saying die.......but the right soup, fish, oyster, steak, lobster and crab buy me time.......

The food is incredible. I just had a quart container of soup from a Japanese steak house to tide me over to five today, and the chicken was incredibly tender and so soothing in my current condition. Watching football games and trying to get back to people with a little lucidity. The mucus is forming but it is slow with this good food, but it still comes.......I just cannot get enough protein down. Going to hopefully do oysters.....filet.......salmon.......but I am about to give up....this is hard.......but we are having fun as a family and not focusing on the horror before us. I kind of would like a few ashes to be scattered downtown outside the art institute near the lions.......just a pinch.....

What an incredibly diverse and magnificant City........I wish I appreciated what we take for granted before I got sick.....but is that not the story of every life....some regrets, but mostly damn that was fun.

I do believe it's hard -- harder than anything most if not all of us forum members have ever faced or ever will -- but I don't for a minute believe the giving up part.   NOT that it's not perfectly OK to give up when you're really ready...but for someone who's still enjoying family and food, at least to some extent -- nah.   You ain't leavin' us yet.   Smile

Will be checking in to a new casino this afternoon. Think it will be comp, and about forty credit toward dinner. The bone mets on my tail bone have become impossible. The PRRT claim to fame was how effective it was to knock down bone mets........well if hurting is working.....then I should be happy. There is no position I can sleep without crossing my legs and then rolling onto one of what it is left of my buttocks to take all pressure off the spine.....two very bad mets.

We will have to check into a hdc room because without the grab bars and extra height, I will not get off the toilet.

We went to DJs which is out of this world.....their happy hour appetizers are normally 16-18 dollars, but between four and six happy hour everything is half price. We ordered 4 mini filet sliders, 9 lamb lollipops, and a dozen oysters. We followed with 4 more mini filet sliders, and two more lamb lollipops......these meats literally melt in your mouth. Took an order of lamb lollipops home for sil.

The joy to watch the girls gobble down what they thought was a hamburger, only to find out it was this incredible steak.......they could not get enough of the lollipops. I ate one slider, three lolipopw and eight oysters......we each had a glass of wine, and this incredible meal was 123 dollars for five people.
I do not care what the wine will do to the liver as I am destroying what is left with pain pills. We are packing up and off to the next adventure......but the only way I was able to get out of bed this morning pull myself up using the tucked in sheet......just as they advised.......our trips will be ending soon.

wed.and thyrs in quad cities, friday rest, watch grandkids sat play basketball.......so tired......we are building our own hospice hospital bed. We will modify the king size bed with overhead supports and will create a bedside commode with a four hundred pound hoise which will move me into the standing position.....will show if we get er done.

Sounds like an interesting project, if you "get er done," but I can't help wondering: what will become of the bed after you're gone? Will Mrs. Sea still want to keep/sleep in it?

Have continuing fun in the Quad Cities!

Agree with Joani.  And you're doing a really good job of it!! Coconut milk soup sounds fab, btw.

Sorry for the pain and casino losses (?presuming?).

Any/all posts appreciated.

We are expecting a big snowstorm. We are in the quad cities, and we enjoyed the buffet. I keep getting weaker. Very difficult to get out of bed and off the toilet. I was able to keep some beef down with a nice apple crisp and cheese cake to wrap it up. We will go home and start building the bedside commode. They say I will go into a coma two weeks after I am unable to get out of bed. I am using a trick that Z taught me about grabbing my pants leg and pulling myself up......it works for now, but I see the end clearly now.

Sea, are the grands still with you or have they gone home and back to school?

Kudos to you for continuing to eat what foods you can. Hope you can still enjoy it to some extent.

Have been meaning to ask (forgive if I'm repeating): Can you say whether or not the most recent Sandostatin injection provided any respite from symptoms? And are you still holding out some hope that the PRRT treatment will kick in?

I suppose a coma could be something of a mercy at the end, yes? I hope it doesn't happen soon, but, if/when it does, I wish you sweet dreams while in the thick of it (if such is possible).

Hope your snowstorm doesn't interfere with travel. Take good care.
