Stunning gaff...or was she being honest for a change? As everyone here knows is that only 36% trust her.

Hillary Clinton: "Because we’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business"

Is it really a great goal of a presidential candidate to campaign on the platform that they are going to add millions to the Labor Force Participation Rate.

Clinton Hands Republicans Ready-Made Campaign Ad With Promise to Kill Coal Jobs
by Alex Griswold | 11:28 am, March 14th, 2016

When it comes to presidential elections, the cliche that honesty is the best policy is ironically false. Hillary Clinton learned that to her peril in last night’s CNN Democratic town hall, when giving an answer about poverty in white communities.

I’m the only candidate which has a policy about how to bring economic opportunity using clean renewable energy as the key into coal country. Because we’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business, right Tim?

You have to admit, sometimes Hillary really does make good sense.

Burning coal's carbon footprint. The off-fall "tailings" wreckage surrounding coal mining areas, including degraded streams. Black Lung disease. Continuing the use of coal -- as well as its export to countries who make no effort whatever to control coal smoke -- qualifies that industry for fast and permanent termination. If the miners involved were mining potassium cyanide, meant to poison millions of Americans, Semi-sane Markle would still fight for the right of their bosses to poison us all. Reality.

My good friend, Socialist/Communist Wordslinger tries hard to forget that this is 2016. Coal-fired power plants are very sophisticated and ultra-clean.

Communist China learned from us decades ago that cheap, plentiful energy was the secret to growing an economy and prosperity.

Communist China:
Both coal production and consumption peaked in 2013 and has dropped continuously, falling a further 3.7% in the first 11 months of 2015 compared to the same period the year before. [b]On the other hand, as of 2016, China is building or planning 144 new coal-fired power stations, and builds more coal-burning capacity each year than the whole capacity of Britain

Meanwhile, The Wordslinger, like his comrades, believe that punishing workers, especially low and middle income workers with higher and higher energy costs. In other words, forcing the United States in the exact opposite direction that made America great.

My good friend, Wordslinger will now trot out a photo of a highly poluted city in China. What he won't tell you is that the vast majority of the smog is from manufacturing companies.

He'll also tell you how he dreams of the day America will collapse and become like Greece or Venezeula.

golly, since Semi-sane Markle knows everything I'm going to write here ... I don't need to contribute anymore.

It is a misleading comment and taken out of context. The dramatic volume of natural gas has driven the demand for coal to its lowest point in decades . . perhaps ever. That in turn has driven the cost of coal so low that mines can no longer operate safely while remaining profitable . . . . . cheap and plentiful natural gas is closing mines not HRC!

The need for all fossil fuels will naturally decline as renewable technologies advance and reserves are depleted.

That is the obvious direction... it doesn't require the force of our enormous central govt or un redistribution schemes.

You made my point it is market forces at work rather than dark forces hidden in the tree line . . . .

On second thought, turning off the use of coal for fuel saves money since gas costs are less already.  So terminating coal mining ultimately will bring everyone lower fuel costs.

I don't have any photos of Chinese cities.

And finally, one thing for sure, it wasn't shutting down coal mines that damaged Greece's or Venezuela's economies.

Next Semi-sane Markle will tell us how shutting down a polluting industry is bad for America, and how Bob's second floor toilet was clogged by Mr. Obama.

How is it taken out of context?

Please explain how this "taken out of context".

Coal mines are being shut down because of the draconian regulations Lame Duck President Obama placed on coal power plants, just as he promised to harm America.

That's easy but I will let you figure it out . . . . . (hint) HRC is also aware of the market forces so you take it from there . . .

Hillary Clinton has little to do with the technology of fracking and the growth of Peaker power plants using NG which has destroyed the coal market......this is all good, but it had nothing to do with Hillary, and Pickens five years ago gave the exact road map for where we are now.....politicians have very little to do with energy markets......but if you are afraid of Hillary.....go ahead and make her the coal boogyman.

Fact: We don't need coal mines or coal miners. Coal is too dirty an energy source, and too expensive also. Reality.

Hundreds of millions, if not billions of people's lives and health have been vastly improved by having cheap coal powered energy now available.

Sad to know you are opposed to poor people having a better life.

Why did former President Clinton close one of the largest sources of ultra-clean low sulfur coal from being mined?

You have yet to explain to us all how, in Lame Duck President Obama's words, energy prices will "NECESSARILY SKYROCKET", will help low and moderate income Americans?

Keeping them healthy and alive is better than improving their living conditions. Right?

Keeping them healthy and alive is done by providing them with electricity so they can have clean running water, able to cook. You prefer they live in mud, squalor and disease.

Truly, I have never seen you this desperate.  Do you expect us to believe that the plight of low and moderate income Americans, will be helped by selling them energy from coal, when energy from natural gas costs and pollutes less? Your argument is crippled.  Your evil objective here is obvious: You are a shill for the folks who own and get rich off of black lung, polluted streams, tailings, and poisoned air. You have nothing but disdain for America's low and moderate income folks.
