We just saw that an avowed socialist who came out of left field (no pun intended) was able to gain a tie in a state with a good number of conservatives and evangelicals.  And not just tie any candidate.   An opponent who arguably represents the most powerful political force going.  And who ordinarily would have been a shoo-in in Iowa when opposed by a socialist.
I wouldn't think that bodes well for having Hillary Clinton as the nominee.

And then we get back to Sanders.  Will an avowed socialist be able to win a general election in this country at this time?  Not likely.

You couple that with the fact that neither party has won a 3rd consecutive term in the White House since Roosevelt,  and I don't think the democrat prospects are that good.
That's my impartial unbiased assessment at this point because,  since I couldn't care less who wins,  how could I be partial.

Bob I always appreciate your comments but it is nearly impossible for me to conceive America voting for Cruz even though HRC is a pathetic political representative and her opponent is an avowed socialist. I trust America will think long and hard before allowing Cruz to occupy the Big House. There are a multitude of issues for each candidate but the repugnant nature of conservatism generally and its messengers will overcome the negative aspects of either of the flawed Democratic candidates.

As I said in another post today.  Winning Iowa will make Cruz the nominee same as it did President Santorum and President Hucksterbee.
Wait to see what happens in NH and SC before we declare Cruz the nominee.

Agree! As Robert Frost said so eloquently:

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

I wouldn't say that Cruz represents "conservatism".  He has managed to alienate most of his fellow congressmen and women on both sides of the aisle.  I can't even believe he's second in the polls...and Rubio is third.  Both of these people are manipulating the far right "christian" voters.  I truly feel sorry for the people who think they're getting something from either Cruz or Rubio.

And on the subject of Bernie Sanders. He's a democratic socialist. So was FDR, despite his elite origins. Our country needs someone who represents the majority and who understands how to get back to our democratic values. Bernie Sanders is that candidate.

One can only hope, Knothead...  Below is one of Ted Cruz's finer senatorial moments, as he shut-down the Senate with a filibuster protesting actions on the ACA. He wasted everyone's time reading Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham.

This reminds me of another famous moment involving a kid's book, whereby our Commander in Chief was reading My Pet Goat aloud while New York was burning.

Senator Cruz is dedicated to conservatism in its most radical form both socially and politically . . . . . this, in my mind is a form of domestic radical jihad ism.  He is a fervent right wing dingbat . . . . . . . either Bernie or HRC will pound him in my humble opinion. For your other points I concur but for this worm to become the GOP standard bearer I cannot wait.

What would you expect from Progressives attempt to pick what is best for Republicans.

Keep in mind who constitutes the majority of voters.  Please recall what the architect of Obamacare said about those who support the plan.  He is RIGHT!

In case you are wondering, and I know you are waiting with bated breath!  I'm the only vote for Ted Cruz.

It figures! I guess his continual moaning about finding Krist outweighs the fact he's a Canadian-Cuban immigrant. An alien Latino ... LOL

Should be fun to watch.  lol

As you know, Trump gave an excellent, gracious speech.

This is one time your use of the phrase "as you know" actually does apply.
Yes,  he really surprised me with that speech.  Almost to the point of shocking me.  Never would have predicted it.

And after I make a ham sandwich I'll tell you why I think it was significant.

My use of the phrase "as you know" I have to believe ALWAYS applies. I refuse to accept that the Progressives here are as uninformed as they insist on showing here.

The number of conservatives and evangelicals matter not in Iowa. They have separate caucuses.

Sanders is having big success because of the major SNAFU created by the former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. ALSO because he is promising $19+ TRILLION in giveaways and young people can't comprehend that they are then TAKING money from other taxpayers.

As you know...you are also wrong about the third term of either party since Roosevelt. President George H. W. Bush (Republican) followed the Great President Ronald Reagan (Republican).

Since you don't care who wins, I hope you stay home.

As you know...or SHOULD KNOW, is that due to the Socialist Policies of FDR the Great Depression was extended by SEVEN YEARS.

As for Bernie winning the nomination, Republicans can only HOPE that is true!
