Government is bad to you when the republicans are running it.
And bad to markle when the democrats are running it.
You love the government when it's doing what you want.
And markle loves the government when it does what he wants.

There's no doubt the country is dumbed down.  And the dumbing down is close to reaching the point of retardation.
But neither your messiahs nor markle's are going to turn that around because that has nothing to do with who the president is.  It's been dumbing down all through both the Bush and Obama administrations. 
That's because both you liberals and you conservatives are incapable of doing anything about it except pay lip service to it.

How, specifically, does Bernie Sanders care about people when his goal is to take an additional $2 TRILLION a year FROM THEM in taxes?
