So, if you don't like the media that carries a story or a statement, the story is false? LOL. Cornel West's endorsement of Bernie Sanders is all over the media, and 100% true. It surely does signify black support for Sanders.

Show me anything, even from your favorite Brieitbart outfit, that indicates broad black support for Trump or any republican candidate for president. I'm all ears. . .

Even if if he did get a significant number of black voters,  it wouldn't matter.
There are now so many hispanic voters that losing most of that vote is probably a deal killer for any Presidential candidate.

The hispanics won't vote for Trump??

After that really terrific demonstration in Iowa last night of how he's going to deport all the Mexicans and then let the nice ones back in thru his really terrific door in his really terrific wall, by deporting their most famous journalist from his really terrific press conference before magnanimously allowing him back in when he promised to be nice?

I can't imagine why they wouldn't vote for him.

Let's see. Trump called Mexicans rapists and murderers. Jeb!#?&*! attacked Asians for having "anchor babies" in the US, but made sure he wasn't referring to Mexicans...WTH?

I've never used brietbart as a source that I recall... produce it or apologize. I try to only use reliable sources... and only go outside of that if none are carrying a story. As a matter of fact... I often use your leftist sites on the rare occasion they are objective and fair.

As for west... you can't seriously think it's news, much less a surprise that he would shill for a socialist.

These are some of his self-described influences: Malcolm X, W. E. B. Du Bois, Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels.

Hardly mainstream with broad appeal comrade.

If all you use is "reliable" sources, why is your brain so warped?

Black voters and hispanic voters are the least of Trump's problems.
He first has to win the white republican vote to get the nomination.
And I'll make this prediction right now. There is no way in hell Trump or any other Republican can win the nomination without the support of Fox News.

There's no doubt that Trump is a uniquely powerful figure on the republican scene.
BUT, the republican media is a lot more powerful. Most all of those republican viewers are tuned in to Fox News. And they will now see Fox News point out anything and everything that's negative about him night after night after night from now on.
Game over.

West is a democratic socialist, admittedly. But that has nothing to do with this thread. West's endorsement for Sanders signifies black support, because Cornel West is a recognized black leader and civil rights advocate. Nothing you have said thus far negates my opening point -- blacks and Latinos are not going to vote republican. And without their vote, no candidate for President can win. The republican party has capitulated to the hardcore, racist, Christian fundamentalist base -- and as a result, is between a rock and a hard place. It cannot defeat the democratic candidate (whoever it turns out to be) without the hardcore base or, as things now stand, with it.

Here's the thing about media coverage of Trump that is really bothering me...

The media is basically creating Trump as far as this campaign goes. Here's what I mean, If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it does it make a sound? We've all heard that question.

But if a candidate were to give a speech and the media didn't cover it would it matter? I think not. The media is covering Trump as if he were a visiting Pope. He can't insult anyone without us hearing all about it.

Last night there was a special report scheduled on CNN covering the 10th anniversary of Katrina and New Orleans. Instead of that report in the time slot they were broadcasting a speech Trump was giving in Iowa, same on Fox and MSNBC too.

And here Bernie Sanders campaign wasn't even mentioned on a Sunday show that talks about media coverage of politics.

I know Trump is a freak but he's attracting a lot of attention from the media. I know they are basically interested in their ratings but it would sure be helpful if the networks would take into consideration what this coverage is doing to the over-all political process. This reminds me of when Fox was ginning up the Tea Party movement, covering it as if it were a grass roots spontaneous happening when a lot of it was pre-fab work by Fox itself.

It just disturbs me that Trump is getting so much air time. It is a cause and effect sort of thing, the media is helping to create him.

I'm glad to see Cornel West endorsing Sanders. That will go far in the black community.

Trump is a side show... he won't last. Perry was leading at this stage last time.

I hope you're right but that was the prediction when he first announced and he is just getting stronger. Have you seen his approval numbers in the various polls in the primary states?

Here's a question: who would he pick or who would want to be his VEEP?

Yes the media has been a partner to Trump in this "sideshow" as Pkr puts it.

But the only media that counts is now hell bent on convincing it's viewers that Trump is indeed a sideshow.  It's now trying to convince it's audience that any of the rest of these "stiffs" are preferable to Trump.

The reason that particular media is all that counts,  is because it's the only media most all republicans get their input from.
I know some of these folk.  Fox News is the only "news" they watch.  They're convinced the rest of the media is pro-communist and pro-muslim and pro-obama and pro-democrat and anti-American and they wouldn't give it the time of day.

They might have liked what they saw with Trump up until now.  But they LOVE the talking heads on Fox News and they especially love Megyn Kelly. And after she and others go negative on Trump for the next few weeks and months,  his poll numbers will not be what they are today.
I would be willing to bet on it.

Would that be the same black vote that shut down a rally of his recently?

I hope Bob and FLTX are right. I caught a short interview on CNN I think this afternoon. It was with the host of the show and someone from the Trump campaign. The campaign spokesman was as professional, crisp and on message as any political operative I've ever seen. It makes me see that he's serious about his campaign.

He's also just hired another campaign manager. This one is from Rick Perry's team. He also made comments on a radio show today about probably supporting the Republican nominee in the event he doesn't get that position for himself.
