Perhaps it's time for the dnr to implement a conservation plan... chicago's national crime rank might suffer.

On July 9, 2013, Public Act 98-63, the Firearm Concealed Carry Act, became state law (430 ILCS 66). You may view the full text of the law at http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/publicacts/98/PDF/098-0063.pdf

Conceal and carry is not even in the equation because the deadline has been moved back to January 10, 2014 and has nothing to do with the dramatic drop in murders in Chicago. The truth is that the Chicago Police Department is probably dirty. That the gangs and the associated violence with the drug trade was very profitable as goes prohibition so goes violence in Chicago and corruption. When the political response was to crush the gangs in Chicago.....the murder rate drops. I have argued that in Pensacola if a federal task force came in and went after the gangs.....which the media does not want to recognize....

Now you can bet on one central tenet.......that folks are going to try to associate this murder rate drop with conceal and carry.......but fortunately people can still engage their brains.
