Fewer Americans Than Ever Trust Gov't to Handle Problems

Americans express record-low trust for both international and domestic problems

by Joy Wilke and Frank Newport

PRINCETON, NJ -- Americans' trust and confidence in the federal government's ability to handle international problems has reached an all-time low, with 49% saying they have a great deal or a fair amount of confidence, two percentage points below the previous low of 51% recorded in 2007.

Who would have guessed?  Seems the months are getter rougher and rougher for President Barack Hussein Obama.  Having your butt handed to you by President Vladimir Putin, President Bashar al-Assad of Syria both of whom have turned the tables on President Obama.  The scandals haunting President Obama by his gross mismanagement are growing all while the President tries to pretend they don't exist.

President Obama LOVES campaigning for the Oval Office but the JOB...not so much.

A more fair-minded and pragmatic position seems would have included the dysfunctional Congress led by the infamous Tea Party Patriots (oxymoron) who just voted for the 41st time to repeal the ACA instead of addressing its deficiencies . . . . now we are coming to another debt ceiling debacle where those elements in the House and freshmen Canadian Senator Ted Cruz have articulated a willingness to shut down the government if the administration does not capitulate to their demands . . . . why would the American people have any confidence in such a dysfunctional government? Golly gee and duh . . . .

always placing blame. 1st of all the ACA is too large to try in any meaningful way to take it down piece by piece. You clearly do not understand it.

but again, go over to the thread about this subject if you wish. this one is about how people have lost faith in the Gov. this should be more concerning for the left than ever. as it usually is the big gov lovers that run not walk to vote for libs.

At your request my dear I complied and revisited the thread and issue of people losing faith in government . . . . . . . . can you blame them? I don't but your comment of 'always placing blame' punctuates your willingness to either ignore or embrace the behavior of the other branches of our system, i.e., Senate and House. The Senate can block anything, even if they are in the minority, and the House is more culpable because they, of course, control the purse strings . . . . I'm not telling you anything you don't already know but as instructed by you let us return to that topic of people losing faith in the governments' ability to . . . . . well govern. You can say I am playing the blame game but if you ignore the factions that are threatening to hold the entire country hostage until this administration capitulates to their demands is called blaming then so be it Chrissy. This is elected officials not stepping up to their responsibility but abdicating it for a mantra that the nation is embarrassed for their ineptitude but that's how I see it. The Republican Party has earned the name of FrightRighties and devoted a tremendous amount of time and resources for that brand. It will be a loser for them eventually as the nation is fatigued from war and even more fatigued with the lunacy of this group of mostly House freshmen devoted to taking our country back to the 1930's..

Congress has little or nothing to do with our INTERNATIONAL policies.

The Debt Ceiling debacle is due to President Barack Hussein Obama's unsustainable, record breaking spending.  Something HE refuses to cut and only wants more from tax payers...of which there are fewer and fewer.

I take it that you have conveniently "forgotten" that the majority of voters did NOT want ObamaCare and it was only with bribes, payoffs and most likely blackmail that it was crammed up our...throats.

The Republicans have demonstrated time and again that they are completely unwilling to support anything the President wants...they have delayed appointments to the point of absurdity...they have openly stated that their efforts were devoted to "making Obama a one-term President". Not happening. Even you, idiot Markle, can't deny the facts. No one is fooled by your hyperpartisan rants or your cut & paste diatribes cut from the RNC playbook. Even those who lean to the right remember the disaster that was President Bush...including those in your own party, because they obviously didn't want his influence in 2008 or in 2012. The 2010 thing worked at the time, but now...well, you reap what you sow.

Why support what they don't believe is right for the nation?

He fundamentally wants to change America to his vision and at year 4.5 not too many people agree with it. Just look at Syria and his handling of Egypt as well. Nobody agrees with it or Obamacare to include his union power base

What WHO doesn't believe is right for the nation? You? LMAO The majority favors a change in healthcare coverage, because too many people slip through the cracks. People who have healthcare coverage have NO IDEA what it's like to be uninsured, or even to have coverage and find that it won't cover, or to be manipulated by a private insurer attempting to tie a current illness to a pre-existing condition. Or to lose health insurance in the midst of an illness because (despite what the employer might say about why they were fired), lose their job and therefore their coverage. The health care providers I know just want to help people. That's why they become doctors and nurses, etc...at least most of them. And I'm proud to say I've worked with some of the best...and been treated by some of the best.

Every problem on the President's plate can be traced directly back to Bush. The wars, the economy, and the loss of moral certainty that holds us together as a country and was once something to be admired...even if we were somewhat delusional in our certainty. He can't even travel outside the country for fear of being arrested.

You're forgetting the role of the CIA in Libya, and the disgraced Patraeus. I've noticed this many times...because the narrative you want to be true isn't supported by the facts, you just omit whatever facts don't fit the narrative.

This again is a bold faced LIE from you. You are trying to finagle words in order to support your odumbercare. This is not true and you know it. The country as a whole DOES NOT support ACA.

and you don't know many upper management people then in healthcare. You must know just a few do as they are tolds. because in upper management there is a strong sense of disarray. Trying to figure out budgets with all the cuts, all the new regulations and I mean tons of new regulations. more power to the gov all the way from HIPAA to CPT. its the monster bill eating away at our healthcare system.

Be prepared for more hospital's and practices to go out of business. if what you say you wan is for the whole thing to crumble so you can have single payer, well you're in for a nasty deadly ride.

Still whining about Bush after all these years. When are you and your hero going to man-up and take responsibility.

Why don't you start screaming about war crimes and war criminal about what he's done?
