Zimmerman Prosecutor Angela Corey Criminally Indicted By Citizens' Grand Jury For Allegedly Falsifying Arrest Warrant And Complaint

he indictment of Corey, which was handed down last week (see www.citizensgrandjury.com), charges Corey with intentionally withholding photographic evidence of the injuries to George Zimmerman's head in the warrant she allegedly rushed to issue under oath, in an effort to boost her reelection prospects. At the outset of this case, black activists such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, who whipped up wrath against Zimmerman, demanded that he be charged with murder, after local police had thus far declined to arrest him pending investigation.

Following Corey's criminal complaint charging Zimmerman, legal experts such as Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz condemned her for falsely signing an arrest affidavit under oath, which intentionally omitted exculpatory evidence consisting of the photographs showing the injuries Zimmerman sustained, and rushing to charge him with second degree murder under political pressure. Dershowitz called her actions unethical and themselves crimes

How much weight does that grand jury carry?

Who did I have a conversation with that prosecutors can be guilty of prosecutor misconduct.......hmmm......who was it that said that this does not happen.......and I gave the range of sanctions including criminal prosecution......and I was told that I was full of it.......I am getting old so my memory is failing.

A grand jury most certainly can bring criminal charges against anybody. The old saying is that you can indict a ham sandwich with the grand jury, but what is unusual about this is that it is the prosecutor who is being indicted. I love it. I agree. If an affidavit was knowingly forged, there should be prosecution. It has absolutely no relevancy to this criminal trial. It may have some relevancy if Zimmerman is convicted and he appeals. The rule of law is that the fruits of an invalid warrant must be stricken. So on appeal they will need to look at what evidence would be stricken. Zimmerman could be granted a new trial if some evidence which was admitted would not have been found, but for the false affidavit.........this has no bearing on the judge, or the jury and their charge to rule on the evidence......it may.......very improbable....have some impact on an appeal.
