GOP Leaders Sidetrack Campaign Reform Vote

Stories like this would seem to make it a little harder to believe that both sides do it and voting doesn't matter because both parties are equally corrupt. The evidence to the contrary is compelling and obvious.

When plutocrats can pour unlimited dark money into campaigns to buy elections, they don't really care who they piss off. The peons are of no concern to them. Even if the masses rose up in armed insurrection, the robber barons have their billions stashed away in safe havens, and can physically jet off to Dubai, should worse come to worse.

The alternative, of course, is to vote and fight like hell within the confines of the democratic system. Even if the choices aren't necessarily between good and evil, non-participation in the process is inexcusable when it's so abundantly clear which side is the far greater evil.

Why is it an issue now, but was NOT an issue when then Senator Barack Hussein Obama intentionally circumvented campaign finance law by refusing matching funds allowing him to outspend Senator John McCain by a margin of two to one?

As you know, Senator McCain spent $360 MILLION while President Obama spent over $740 MILLION to buy the Oval Office.

NB, I know DC is the same old same old over and over with Democrats trying for finance reform and Republicans voting to block it so they can continue to pass laws to suit their sugar daddies but how old is this article? All the names I looked up, Shays, Hastert, Meehan aren't even in office any more.
That's what's happened to the R party and even some of the D's. Any of the moderate folks get primaried or voted out in the general.

Maybe you could refresh my memory. Wasn't it the MCCAIN/FEINGOLD campaign finance reform law which was partially overturned by the Supreme Court?

Sure it was. If you want to look like you're for a particular position that you don't really support. Simply write bad law which will be struck down by the courts. That way you look like a champion for the people, meanwhile little changes.

Obama received a large portion of his campaign contributions from GRASSROOTS DONORS. McCain didn't have that kind of appeal with the general public. The Republican Party is dying. Ask Pat Robertson.

Really? Why then are Republicans raising so much more money than President Barack Hussein Obama.

President Obama has had over 100 fund raisers in the past six months. That far exceeds any other president in history at this point in their first term. More than ten rounds of golf in the past six months.

In the past six months...ZERO meetings with his own JOBS COMMITTEE. President Obama is a massive failure. THAT'S why Democrats are struggling.

The media is working desperately to show President Obama as being far out ahead. Even they admit to skewing their polling.

They are getting the money from the wealthiest people in America because they know if Romney wins he will allow them to continue with the Unending War Program which makes them all so wealthy.

No matter what, Obama needs to be issued his walking papers. He's done enough damage.

I think the Corporate Banking Industry is holding their money instead of loaning it to people to start a business or improve one is a way to hogtie the economy so that Obama will be defeated.

As opposed to all the money donated to Obama by the liberal left in Hollowood, Soros, and the rest of the million/billionaire socialist/progressives who think rich people are evil (except themselves, of course)? It's funny that liberals don't recognize their own hypocricy when it comes to taking pot shots at the "evil rich".

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

Who is it that radically increased the number of troops in Afghanistan along with the casualties? Didn't President Barack Hussein Obama promise to have us out of both wars withing 16 months of his taking office? Wasn't it President Obama who, amidst much fanfare, signed an Executive Order CLOSING GITMO by January of 2010? How's that working for you? Didn't we just spend half a million dollars to refurbish GITMO?
