Down payment assistance?
Housing counseling?

Did any of you need down payment assistance or counceling while buying your house?
I didn't.

Floridians now have the opportunity to benefit from millions in down payment assistance, housing counseling and legal aid programs.

The $60 million in additional assistance was approved by the Legislative Budget Commission last week following a national mortgage settlement with five top banks, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
It includes: $35 million for down payment assistance; $10 million for housing counseling; $5 million provided to state courts to help with foreclosure issues; $5 million provided to the Attorney General’s Office to help fund legal aid programs and $5 million provided to the Attorney General’s Office to reimburse the office and continue its efforts to remedy abuses of the foreclosure process.
