I didn't vote because none of your options fit the bill. I don't care about it, unless maybe neg votes are badges of honor. I really haven't used it much and consider it pretty irrelevant.

Some people do care about the rating system, since they complain about receiving negatives.

The thing obvious to me is that such complaints can result in more negatives given to the complaining poster.

I think we need a thermonuclear option. Like, when someone writes something really mean or obtuse--a few posters fit that bill regularly-- we can lay a "-500" on them. However, doing so activates flood control for your account for an extended period, say 4-6 weeks.

Then, the rating system should only be allowed once per IP address to keep socks from gaming the system.

It reminds me of the DailyKOS where if your thread get "X" number of negative votes, it automatically is deleted. Frequent, elite posters, can delete so many threads they don't like.

That prevents the truth and honesty from infiltrating their hard left Progressive site.
