So this is how bipartisan governance works. Repubs don’t want to raise the debt ceiling (they will have to) and BHO won’t even talk about spending cuts until somewhere down the road (can you say NEVER). There are plenty of places to cut spending, take the DoD F-35 program – now there is a great place to start. Entitlement spending – but wait – the Dems won’t even talk about that sacred cow. So 4 more years of bickering and finger pointing - is this a great country or what?

$8 billion a year wasted on head start. Another failed program.
Including $100 million of it in the Sandy relief bill.

So, I guess we are back to being held hostage by terrorists/GOP threatening to destroy the world economy unless we all agree to feed granny catfood.

Sorry 'bout your hurt fee-fees fellas, but the Prez was perfectly clear.

There will be no more negotiating with economic terrorists.

If the Republicans want less partisanship in DC, then they need to stop sending lunatics to Congress.

This has been well documented for years now. Mention cutting Head Start and you're a skinhead racist.

General Powell defined the problem on "Meet the Press" by saying the GOP must stop tolerating the racist vein that runs so deep within the dialogue, address realistic immigration reform (Dream Act) and confront the reality of global warming. Obama is correct in standing his ground and not caving to the tea party Taliban with regard to the debt ceiling issue. It is such a chicken shit way to govern . . . . .

Obama: Not Always a Fan of Upping Debt Ceiling

While President Obama’s economic advisor Austin Goolsbee argued Sunday that a refusal by the Senate to increase the government’s debt ceiling (currently $14.3 trillion) would be “catastrophic” and a sign of “insanity,” that’s not the position the president has held in the past.

Here are Obama’s thoughts on the debt limit in 2006, when he voted against increasing the ceiling:

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.

Just like a good little terrorist....huh Sal?

Who was in control of the Senate when Obama made those comments?

Political posturing is not the same as economic terrorism.

Nice try.

He didn't cause the nation to default or shutdown the government, and he didn't have the votes to do so. That's the difference, Einstein. When the Dems controlled the House, they never held the nation's credit hostage.

Whether or not he had the votes to do his "terrorist" act doesnt matter. He stated that he was against raising the debt ceiling then and now when he wants to raise it they are holding the conomy hostage. You dont see the hipocracy?

Yeah, I see the hypocrisy.

So the fuck what?

They're DC politicians, man.

I also see a HUGE difference between political grandstanding when you don't have the majority, and economic terrorism when you do.

You can't seem to get that.
