How on earth can the Pentagon misplace $2-3 trillion when the entire annual defense budget is roughly $685 billion? From where are they even getting this misplaced money to begin with?

"We cannot seem to locate or account for our entire budget for 4 years"

Speaking of the WTC, I'm still not happy about all the money that was given to the widows of the victims of that tragedy when now nobody wants to take care of the medical needs of the real heroes, which are the people who went in for the rescue attempts. The Republicans managed to block that bill just last week, but they didn't seem to mind handing out millions to people whose families may have already had great life insurance. This place is upside down sometimes, really. I do think the dems need to make a big issue out of the Republicans blocking last week's bill though.

This place, the world, is definitely upside down...often. Too many powerful people are too big to put in jail and others do time for relatively very small offenses. The list goes on.

That was uploaded to YouTube on Sept. 11, 2006 with references in the clip of previous similar failures of the Pentagon to keep track of its money. It is obviously a systemic problem.

I'll bet if we had enough forensic accountants we could at least find some of that money but I'll also be that congress doesn't want to spend the money even though, unlike the war in Iraq, this effort would probably pay for itself and then some.

That was a great clip and an important situation that just goes to show that when it comes right down to it we must not really care all that much about the tax payers money because we don't take very good care of it.

Let me rephrase that last part a little. We don't care about wasting money on the military budget, corporations, subsidies for big agri and big oil but oh how some wring their hands frantically if they think some of their "hard earned" tax money might go to some program to help the poor right here in this country.

There was that part about pallets of cash sent to Iraq and lost so it does upset people now and then. Don't think they ever found that money did they?

I am still trying to get my arms around why someone would bump-up a thread from nearly 4 years ago....  Suspect
