Both words signify the departure from the norm. It can apply to sexual orientation and it can be applied to deviants who have a queer view of what happened on 9-11.

We are all deviants in one way or another. It would be a sorry world if we all were alike. We deviate on everything from art to opinion. Many heterosexuals are so deviant they are disgusting, the same goes for many homosexuals.
I think you should do what you want or enjoy as long as you hurt no one else.

Let's put it this way, TEO...I would prefer a whole raft of "deviants" to one big mouth bigot.

Yeah someone might have a hard time distingushing the bigots from the strongly opinionated here. Most just call people whatever name makes them feel superior. Like if I were to call abortion supporters baby killers then baby killers would want to call me something equally offensive.

Oh I see this is where because of your chosen label you get to get all self righteous and attack me for using what is a scientific word to describe someone that is outside the normal range on a bell curve. A deviation from the norm is a deviant. See Queer means deviant silly. You need to lighten up or ignore me.

You're actually wrong. I don't refer to myself as queer. I almost invariably refuse to answer if asked. If someone pushes the issue and I feel it, I tell them that I'm a "try-sexual," wait for the laughter, then the question, "what the hell does THAT mean??" at which time I answer, "Hell, I'll "try" anything at LEAST once!" So no, T. I have not chosen "my" label. On a personal level, I agree with you on the subject much more than you know.

I apologize for going off on you last night, but the idea of straight being "normal" and queer being "abnormal" really pisses me off... clearly. Embarassed

What the hell is that supposed to mean?

So clear this up for me, T. You refer to me (and treat me) as a friend in private, but clearly by your above post you must regard ME as well, as a "deviant."
I have some good friends who know I'm bisexual and they still want to be friends with me. But they have in no way stopped hating queerism. While they really are friends in every sense of the word (we go all the way back to elementary school), they now look at me as being a deviant too.
I have other longtime friends who don't know my sexual orientation. That's because if they knew they would not even be able to handle it and that might end our friendship. It will sound strange to some but I value all my friendships regardless if it's with those who despise queerism.

Most people have been so engrained with the need to despise queers that they can never lose that feeling, rice. It's not like prejudice against race or muslims or women or anything else. Sexuality is the most personal human emotion of all. And when someone does not fit into the accepted view of it, that creates the most fear and hatred of all.
Teo is trying to learn to understand it. But he's never going to be able to accept it because of that. And there are millions and millions just like him.

Thanks, Bob. I think you and I have had very different experiences. I am very open about my beliefs on the subject and about who I am in that sense. I don't care who they are, if they don't like it, they can....... pound sand. I have lost childhood friends over it, but I don't miss them in my life one bit. When it comes to things like that I can be very unemotional and cold. If someone has betrayed me, I'd cut their heart out in a second without a second thought. Character flaw, I guess.

Teo views anything that disagrees with him on it as "getting in my face with it".
He thinks we should just stay silent and when we don't we automatically become "in his face". But whatever teo says about it can never be "in our faces". lol

Ha. I double dog dare anyone to try to make me shut up.

I gave a perfectly good explanation but Bob if you and the other deviations would like to remove the normal well why not ? Why should you have to put up with normal ? Rally round your specialness and praise yourselves for you courage of having sex differently than the vast majority of people... You are so special....

See what I mean, rice. If we do anything to stick up for ourselves, it's no different than when years ago we used to hear about "those uppity niggers" when they did the same. lol

Funny, Bob... that's exactly what I read in that post as well. What a shame. Fear of something or someone unknown runs so deeply and strong.

That I can agree with happily. The reason I got so god damn pissed off is that I know where it comes from when T calls me (or Bob or Damaged Eagle or Vectorman or Chrissy) a "deviant". He doesn't mean it in the way that you do when you say it, Yeller. It was meant to be derogatory, and I took it as such.

That being said, I didn't meant to bring it up again.

It's a problem that you folk wallow in your own brand of bigotry and speak of as virtue. When someone even questions or offers a new opinion you gang up and attack them because they disagree with you. Now you tell me that the words I use are different when others say them. Ye are judges without knowledge you find guilt because you are guilty. You know what is right but want to make the world fit your wants. Well kill babies what is that to me? Less of YOU. Most of you shouldn't be trusted to raise children anyway. I epitomize all that you hate in the world. A person that dares question, that dares look at motive and results. You call me dangerous ? You espouse ideas which have destroyed nations like a cancer in a body. No danger from me unless thinking makes you ill.

Back from chik fil a.
In another thread today he said I was "worse than Hitler".
Now I'm a "destroyer of nations". lol

By the way, back to the words and labels. I have no clue how the word "gay" became synonymous with homosexuality, but that has to be the biggest screwup that has ever happened in the English language.
I sympathize with those who are unhappy how the definition of that word was hijacked. I now hate the word too.

You're an intelligent guy, T. Pull up the statistics. Us "deviants" aren't your "baby killers." Why is it that you say, "Most of you shouldn't be trusted to raise children anyway"? What is it that we are "guilty" of?? Regarding your comment about knowing what is right but wanting to make the world fit our wants... How is it that you KNOW that YOU are right and WE are not?? Did your God whisper into your ear and tell you that?? And, please -- do tell -- what ideas have we "espoused which have destroyed nations like a cancer in a body"?? Also, I really don't think that anyone here has ever accused you of being "dangerous."

Really, you began by kinda offering an olive branch in my eyes, which as you may recall, I had to ask you about because I thought you were yankin' our chains. Then -- in my opinion -- you were the one who attacked by calling us deviants. We may just have to agree to disagree on that point.

It's wrong to say that anyone ganged-up on you, T... it's just a simple fact that there are more people here @PDF who are willing to speak out on behalf of queers than against them. No one's ganging up on you. I'm sorry you feel that way.

It seems to me that some people want to give Teo a bunch of grief over the use of insignificant wordage.

Most here can go way back and remember how strongly Teo's veiws were on this subject, he has come a long way so to knock him down as he at least atempts to try to understand and be more open to this subject. To me its not useful in the ways of changing minds by way of hearts to ignore a persons baby steps towards understanding.

sorry. This is the way I see it.

unless yall just want something to argue about?

TEOTWAWKI

Well naturally you are going to see yourselves as innocent little victims even though you chose to swing my olive branch as a switch against me by saying that queer, gay, homo are all okay but a word that means the same, deviant was not to be tolerated....well I think you all need to quit looking for boogie men everywhere to pat yourself on the backs for beating up....makes you look needy ....I won't discuss it further ...you just want to be all smug at my expense. I don't hate or even dislike ...let me see what word can I use to please you whining little pups...Queers? I tried to understand them better and they couldn't wait to find an opening to attack me from...enjoy whatever you want...but not at my expense.

Not at all, Chrissy. I apologized to him first thing when I logged in this morning for becoming so angry over his usage of the word "deviant" with respect to the queer community and he has not acknowledged my apology.

And, I agree with you about him taking steps toward understanding, as I stated at least twice in this thread.

I'm not going to beg for forgiveness.

You both have convinced me. You two are so cool.
Sorry, teo. I feel like Chrissy and Rice both. I really want you to understand this and try to accept it although I know how difficult that is for you. But I'm not going to beg either.

I've always liked you, Bob. And I like Chrissy, as well. She's much more intelligent than many people give her credit for.

To your point, again: yeah... I frigging apologized to T for going off on him as soon as I got on the forum this morning. When I'm wrong, I will be the first person to step forward and take responsibility for it. He and I have been very good friends in the past and have shared a lot of things that are really important and personal. It would make me sad if he chose -- as it would seem he may be doing -- to not accept the apology I have extended.

That being said, I don't beg to anyone.

That's a valid point for sure, but wouldn't you agree that society demands definition of sexuality at this point in our evolution?

Most people on this forum don't wish to discuss the definition of sexuality without letting thier own prejudice and discrimination towards the alternate sexual preferences that abound in our society.
