About 1,000 motorcycles with police escort will be leaving the American Legion on Ashland Ave, off of 9 Mile Rd about 1100 AM on Sunday morning. They will go west on 9 Mile, to Pine Forest Rd, then Mobile Hwy and to the Wall South for a service.  For the last 4-5 years, I stood at Home Depot along Mobile Hwy, then went to the Wall South after they go by.  They should be going past Home Depot about 11:20.  There are many Viet Nam vets and middle east vets in the group.  They would be more than happy to talk to anyone that shows up at the Wall South.

The times MIGHT be 30 minutes later.

EDIT after stopping at the American Legion on Ashland Ave yesterday afternoon.
They will have registration for all riders and free breakfast for anyone that shows up from 9:00 to 11:00, then start lining up at 11:00.  At NOON, they will leave with the police escort.  This year, I'm going to the American Legion. EVERYONE is welcome no matter their military service or not. It's all about the ones that gave their lives for the rest of us.

Hi Joanie. I've been around, but just reading the posts once a week or so.

I hope you go to watch the bikers. I do NOT ride motorcycles, but the riders are very friendly and polite. They do the ride to honor the deceased veterans. Guaranteed there will be a LOT of hugs, and tears. When I went to see them at the Wall South the last few years I met a few Marines or sailors from my old commands from the early 70's to 91 when I retired.

I hope it works out for the continuation of their ride.

I do, too - presuming they really want to continue it.
