Trump can't win w/o Russia manipulating the voting machines so hopefully that will be fixed before the election.

I believe that  Governor Hickenlooper of Colorado is going to be on the Democratic Ticket.  He is done as governor because of term limits, and after being the mayor of Denver and Governor, he has a solid resume of fiscal sanity and results.   Rumors are Kasich wants to run as an independent with Hickenlooper as VP.  I think the democratic party will embrace him......however, trump will be beat, but as it stands now.......not an easy task.

Even though he's a RINO Kasich isn't liberal enough for the Democrat Party.  Neither is Hickenlooper.  Plus, they are both white males so that's a strike against them as far as left coast Democrats would be concerned in any primary contest..   They would never get the nomination.  And even if they did, President Trump would make mincemeat of them in the campaign and debates.

You know very well that Trump's white-racist ultra Christian base have the collected intellect of a family of Meerkats, but even so, Trump's most productive pitch is what he's done for the economy -- the "best" economy in America ever!! Job growth, factories being built, the whole kaboodle. Only real wages for the working class have actually diminished since Obama's reign, and Trump's new non-health plan gives the insurance companies the right to refuse based on prior conditions. What he's done to workers and their families is called rape. And it's apparent now that Cohen's testimony will show Trump did collude with the Russians. The democrats -- and all the republicans who see that Trump will be defeated by Mueller -- will distance themselves from Herr Twittler, and they will use all the faults of Trump's health care and tax plan to offset his meaningless boasting. 4 point growth doesn't mean shit if you can't solve your baby's health problems because you can't afford too. And when your rent costs 70% of your monthly income, you already know the truth.

As for the evangelist vote, of course Trump will have the votes of all twelve of them -- based on the current Christian drop-out rate.

Reality.

Tell Hillary Clinton about "all twelve" of those evangelical votes.  LOL!

I have no favorite at this point. I'm looking for someone with experience in government, who will work with Congress to do an immigration bill that will work for everyone. They should also be prepared to work WITH our allies, not tear down our friends, listen to advice from the intelligence community, have an understanding of American and world history, etc. Here's a ranked list from CNN as to how Chris Cillizza sees things at this point.

There are exactly 838 days between today and November 3, 2020 aka Election Day. That's 2 years, 3 months and 15 days.

Which, in our expert opinions, is a long way from now. Too long, some might say, to make predictions of any sort about how the 2020 race for the Democratic presidential nomination to challenge President Donald Trump might play out.

Okay, C-Lady.    Rolling Eyes

But seriously .... no, I have no idea who I might vote for in 2020. I kinda doubt Trump will be challenged for the nomination unless he really crashes the economy ...  and I certainly won't be voting for him!  (although for not entirely the same set of reasons than some of you on here may have)

As to the Democrats, well .... let's see who they nominate.  Somebody like Hickenlooper or that Montana governor, ......  yeah, I s'pose I could get on-board with voting for a moderate Democrat just to keep Trump from getting another four years.  Although I might not be very enthusiastic about it.   If the D's go ahead and nominate some leftist we are the world it takes a village etc race-baiter though, I might just sit the whole thing out in disgust of both parties. (for the first time ever)

As to the Libertarians ... well I voted for Johnson/Weld primarily due to their actual governing experience, budget ideas, non-interventionist foreign policy, and overall pragmatism.  But the L's had their best shot ever with those two and couldn't get it off the ground.  I don't see them coming up with as credible of candidates next time around, so I'll likely not be on board with them either.

Objectively though, I expect the Democrats have the best opportunity to win .....  if they don't screw it up by nominating some leftist whackadoodle and turn-off a lot of voters from going to the polls at all.

Finally, a musical reference I can understand, and just perfect too!

I agree. The dems need someone who is not too far left. We need a "radical centrist" as Mitch Landrieu would say. To me that means someone who keeps the best interests of average Americans in mind, keeps us safe by listening to his/her advisors and mends fences with our allies around the world. A hefty dash of grown-up behavior, reading, thinking, planning and nearly zero tweeting would also be appreciated. Also, it would be helpful if they nominated people to head the various Cabinet level departments who actually wanted to facilitate rather than undermine to stated purpose of said departments.

After this junk food presidency I think we need to eat some veggies.
